Hi paco328 i saw that you use the Simser der Deutschen's tutorial to make your custom videos, do you have some tips to avoid chashes in game? if you already answered this, pardom me.

there's no magic solution to this problem... just play around with the bitrate until it doesn't crash.

I usually start from 170kbps (for 512x288 videos), then if it crashes the game, i go up by 3kbps to 173, then 176 etc etc, until it works. if you're lucky, you get it on the first try, other times it might take 6+ tries... it's tedious to say the least. (my worst case  was a video that took 20+ tries to get it work)

nowhere, as I just downloaded most of my sims from the Sims Gallery anyways, I just tweak them a bit and give them some CC clothes. (that's one of the reasons I don't plan to share them here, as I don't have permission from neither the sims' creators nor the CC clothes creators for re-distribution) ~ sorry.

The release dates on the vids are kind of confusing, for example the two above say July 11th but today is the 20th so what I'm wondering is what are those dates for?

 

Also you've really outdone yourself with this mod now, it's quite impressive from the first time I tried it out. Definitely loving the parodies and "classic" scenarios (teacher student, alien abduction, and so on).

Alright, I did change the romance channel, but there are still some "NEWS brodcasting" between the new vids.

On your installation picture I saw a "ChannelNewsOverride" file. Its currently not in the folder.

Any chance to get it back?

???? Still not sure what you mean ---- These 2 videos start off with "news segments": ON BOARD OF WARD (...SULANI SUNRISE) , KATY PERRY - LAST FRIDAY NIGHT (...AT THE STRIP CLUB) - Those segments are part of the videos, they can not be turned off.

There's no such file with this name in my install folder, neither on the "install picture" ->

If you've meant this file: CinErotique2RAW_ReplaceXXXX - That's an (at the moment) Patreon only second channel called "RAW"... it'll be released on LoversLab later on.

I was updating this mod when something struck me as kind of odd, there are adverts on CinErotique for some of the existing shows but not the upcoming "early access" vids that you can only get on your Patreon.. I dunno, it just seems like a missed opportunity to me, a way to not only "remind" users of the mod of the content on your Patreon in an immersive way (maybe make the LL version of the adds look like a "premium access" type of deal) but make the upcoming content feel more immersive in general. Heck you could even make "teaser" adds for stuff on your Patreon that is still in production.

 

Just a thought though I suppose..

Is there any way to mute the always on tv's? If I remember right the old always on monolith tv used to be mutable or was muted by default, but I haven't found a way to mute the new version/s. I have 4 of them in the living room all playing different sections of the shows loop, and I noticed a like low level drone noise caused from the different audio tracks being played at the same time. For example - one playing the x-files theme and then the other doing the pirates theme, another tv playing the sex noises and or the commentary etc. Its not game breaking, but one you notice it, it's like someone scratching their nails on a chalkboard, and you can never unhear it lol.

It's a good idea, but at the moment, I don't have the time on top of producing "proper content" to make trailers/ads for every new video (a production of a 30 second trailer with conversion+ingame testing on top would take probably 3-5hours - I simply don't have the time ?).

Just copy pasting the LL teaser videos would be too lazy of a solution, I would not feel comfortable doing that.

Sorry, but you remember wrong. It was exactly the same. (The new ones are literally using the same code, the only difference is that the meshes are base game compatible).

I'm no spring chicken, so my ears aren't what they used to be, so I can't comment on this one apart from "I can't hear anything like that in my game". ?

AFAIK Not really... I mean, you can turn down/off the sound effects in the settings menu. I know it's not the ideal solution, but I can't recommend anything better.

 

I'll look into the possibility of muting, maybe it can be done, but I can't promise anything.

AFAIK Not really... I mean, you can turn down/off the sound effects in the settings menu. I know it's not the ideal solution, but I can't recommend anything better.

Thanks for your response.  Yea EA lets you control volume on radios but not the TV, sounds consistent with all Sims 4 flaws. The sound wasn't actually the chalkboard reference, just an annoyance comparison. You mostly notice it when in an adjacent room, like a droning kinda airplane echo kinda sound. But if you don't hear it good, wouldn't wish that on ya'. Anyways thanks again and great work on your mod!

That's understandable, I can imagine quite a bit of effort goes into these, from editing to shooting, even without bloopers (which you would get with real life.. speaking of which, maybe an idea for another video, a fake "blooper reel", or basically a montage of different screw ups with some music in the back ground or something like that). Honestly I think the LL trailers are fine but being somewhat of a perfectionist myself I can kind of understand your mentality.

 

One more thing, would it be possible to make an option so that this network is only displayed in specified or non public lots? Its kind of.. amusing to walk into a bar and see a sim turn the channel over to a graphic porn network, lol.

I don't think TVs can be controlled like that... but as a "workaround", you can just use the Fireplace channel replacer version (CinErotique1_ReplaceFireplace.package), as that one requires tvs to be upgraded with the Super Reception upgrade to be able to show the channel, so it's kinda like a pseudo child lock.

What timeline do you use for the "early access" videos? (since you say none of your content will be forever hidden behind a paywall). I heard that the standard time used by creator is two weeks. Do you use that one as well?

what do you mean by "figure action"? the ones on the guy's computer desk (lara croft, harley quinn)?

i don't use any "timeline" per se, rather it's more like a ~10 video buffer. the reason for the lack of new free stuff recently is that the next ones in line are for a completely new second channel, which i don't wanna launch on LL with just a single video (or two) playing on it... so don't worry, new stuff is coming ? I will be launching said channel with 3-4 new videos next week.

eu não uso nenhuma "linha do tempo" por si só, é mais como um buffer de vídeo ~ 10. A razão para a falta de novidades gratuitas recentemente é que os próximos na fila são para um segundo canal completamente novo, que eu não quero lançar no LL com apenas um único vídeo (ou dois) sendo reproduzido nele ... então não se preocupe, novas coisas estão chegando ? lançarei o referido canal com 3-4 novos vídeos na próxima semana.

sadly the channel selection seems to be "hardcoded" into each tv object. I've experimented with xml injections to add a new channel to them but the end result was too unreliable (it did work fine on some lots, on others my sim was just T-posing instead of watching, or throwing LE errors), so I gave up on that idea.
