Here is my take on a Danish translation for CinErotique, the best adult TV channel in Sims 4.

 

• "Se CinErotique" (tv channel selector menu item) - ID:57C57DA1
• "Kvalitets voksenindhold til alle frække Simmer!" (tv menu flavor text - it doesn't have to be an exact translation, you can go creative with this one.) - ID:57C57DA2
• "Så noget frækt" (buff indicator) - ID:57C57DB1
• "Liderligheden tager næsten overhånd efter at have set den frække film på TV!" (doesn't have to be an exact translation, you can go creative with this one.) - ID:57C57DB2
• "Se noget porno" (whim indicator) - ID:57C57DC1
• "Klik på TV'et og vælg "Se CinErotique"." - ID:57C57DC2
• "Få {SimName}* til at blive flirtende. For at blive flirtende, kan {SimName}* engagere sig i romantiske aktiviteter eller se Porno på TV'et." - ID:954B7B55
• "Din Simmer skal være i et flirtende humør for at fortsætte med skrivningen af denne bog. Måske lidt porno på TV'et kan få inspirationen til at flyde." - ID:B4E9F83A

No need to rush it. Better that you spend some time on more content. My Sim watch a lot of porn while she's waiting for clients to call and since she only watch Sim-Porn (she hate "people-porn" ?) she almost know all the shows by heart. Monolith TV always on does not work correctly. 

 

It is marked as unbreakable in Buy-Mode but breaks after a few days. Can not be repaired. It must be sold and rebuyed in Buy-Mode.

@wild_guy hey, sorry for the late late laaaate response. life has taken me into new directions recently, sadly, i'm not sure if i can keep up with creating new content (or at least not in the near future). ? but i'll still try to keep up with possible fixes if (or more likely, when) maxis breaks the mod.

I'll try looking into it sometimes, it was working all right when the mod was released (ran 8 of them simultaneously for several ingame weeks without any breakage), best case scenario is: that EA just moved/renamed some affordances; worst case scenario: it's a new bug (happened before with unbreakable items), in this case i won't be able to do anything with it.

In the meantime, have you tried SHIFT+LEFT CLICK on it, then selecting "Reset Object". (you might need to have "testingcheats on" for it, I can't remember)

I don't know it makes a different or not but i have noticed that on a Community Lot. I have now some basicly unbreakable TV's from EA releases. They work fine.

 

Other Opjects, which should just be unbreakable by upgrades breake sometimes.

Yes it is, this is one of my favorite mods. You must have a background in television production as these are top quality. I really love having this channel on. You've got it all on here, the Tomb Raider, Pirates and Katy Perry ones are hot, X-Files breaks it up nice, Judith Ward sex tape is hot and lmao, and I literally chuckle out loud at the Salvadora commercial and Friends episode every time.  Really wish you were able to add more, can only imagine what you'd come up with. Definitely best of luck in your future endeavors you have serious talent.

but don't feel doom and gloom too much, I'm not dead yet or anything, maybe (probably) I'll return one day.

I was toying with the idea of going patreon, but i don't think with such low number of downloads (2-3k/video) it would net more that $100-200 a month. So... yeah. It is what it is.

Have you been chatting with WildGuy or some of the other "Haven't crossed the line..." modders. You seem like one of the good ones, the modders that understand what modding is all about but also know that "you've gotta eat" lol. It's gotta be tough since patreon. I'd like to say patreon is a bastard company but it's just a company that found a niche building a bridge. The increase in demand for mods (the only reason sims 4 is still alive) combined with the decline in respect of those new to modding (I chalk it up to the newer generation's instant gratification upbringing, the mentality that mod devs created the mod and should support it, forgetting, or not realizing, that it's free...i'm rambling, let me try and be succinct here).  Modders + Mod Users inexperience and  tendency to not "RTFM", obviously only decreases the incentive for Mod Devs. Now, throw the "patreon bridge" into the equation and Mod Devs are at the crossroads (like Robert Johnson the Blues Legend) with the opportunity to "Sell their souls to the devil by crossing the bridge" (in the eyes of the traditionalists. Has to be tempting. 

Now (sorry really trying to sum up this rantish statement of the obvious) some Mod Devs sold out completely, but then there is the group that sits on the bridge, catering to both sides fairly by timed releases. These are the "new wave" moddevs. They understand that staying with the old school tradition will only result in frustration and eventual burn out, leaving the hobby they love. Guys like TurboDriver, WildGuy, all the animators (I worry about Coolspear, he's a genius but his, very entertaining but complex, rants have him about to quit). 

Wow I'm cutting myself out, bottom line, with your talent you could be freelancing television gigs (I worked in TV starting in high school and continued for another decade or so). I'm not sure the going rate now but even 20+ years ago I could get 100-150 an hour shooting and editing local and regional commercial's and corporate video (keeping my low paying job to access the equipment and making bank on the freelance stuff). Shit i'm rambling again, sorry. 

Bottom line, we love your mods. Quick thought popped in my head (if you're still readng lol) I know you can do other mods but what about specializing in the TV type mods. Creating not just, our favorite, porn channels but anything to replace the other shit channels, maybe new radio stations with not just adult stuff but better content in general. Just thinking if I was listening to the island station and a radio ad tied into your Selvadorada commerical with that voice came on, I'd spit out my fucking mountain dew. 

Maybe you could add more songs to the instruments (obviously no singing but a lot of people would love that). Take your creative talent and mainstream it. You tubbers would eat that up. People would get rid of their no autonomy TV mods to let them play in the background. It really brings a sense of life to the game. I'm sure you've got tons of ideas for simlish parodies of TV shows, we aleady get a few simlish popular songs in the game but so few that it's tough to get into. If you were releasing new episodes (tied in with some radio commercials lol) I'm sure a lot of people with ride that fence and donate to get them early (combined with donations of appreciation). 

It's tough, not like you can draw up a business plan for this, which goes back to my question (out of curiosity) about if you'd been talking to the other modders that seem to be doing alright.

Wow, that was like my brain with severe diarrhea, way too much Sims and way to little socialization. Also just took a break from one of the best play throughs I've experienced in a while (in thanks to your station, as well as the various objects, the Taylor Swift collection lmao) it was those little things that made it a lot of fun. Spent more time watching the TV channel while banging (for lack of a less crass term). My sim has reached the point that he still has a lot of sex but is watching TV during it, he must be getting older, or multitasking, who knows.

If you're still reading, well, first of all sorry for all that lol, and I'm sure you know or have thought of all of the above, but this "novel" is a testament to my appreciation. It's my subconscious rambling instead of typing "please make more" over and over "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy" .

@MortiferusX hey, so, i ran a test today. i've slapped 3 of my monolith tvs in a bar, and left the game running for 7 ingame days on 1X speed (basically it's like 3 hours in real time), and i could not reproduce the bug, none of the tvs broke.

Mind you, i'm still on patch v1.58.63.1010 because of... khmm.... "reasons".

 

i have a couple of questions / recommendations / ideas though:

• what patch are you on?
• does the breakage happens on a specific community lot, or ANY community lot?
• are the tv's at indoors or outdoors (water damage?)
• are there any gnomes/ghosts present on the lot that can fuck up objects?
• do you have any of coolspears' original decor tv mods installed? (could be some conflict there, although i doubt it)
• do you have any other custom television set mods in your game? (again, possible conflict)

things that i could do:

• i could reduce the price of the tv to $0, and while it doesn't solve the issue, it would at least not cost anything for it to be replaced when broken.
• or have you considered installing some sort of "no object breakage mod", i'm sure somebody made something like that already.
• while you have " testingcheats true" on, as far as i know SHIFT+LEFT CLICK then "Reset Object" should fix anything.
• ...aaaand that's about all at the moment.

@Byrnie95 that was some beautiful rambling my friend. i enjoyed it (no lie). reading a stream of thought is always an interesting experience.

just addressing some main points:

• yes, the burnout can be very real. i know the feeling too well.
• when i talked about patreon i've (obviously) meant a simple timed exclusivity, i hate hard paywalls, and would never do that myself.
• going mainstream is actually a good idea. (it's still a big "maybe one day" though...)
• i haven't seen anybody using the term "RTFM" in ages, had a good chuckle there...

anyways, thanks again for taking the time to write all those nice things. i appreciate it.

• The most time I play on a Lot that is owned by my Household and runned as WW-Stripclub

• I see nothing from "Coolspear" in my Folder and i have no other CC TV's
