Changing body slot isn't working

hello! I'm desperately trying to change the body slot of an armor (actually, a pair of pants) from 32 to 52, to use it as a model replacement for another piece of underwear missing male model. I can't for the life of me figure out what I am doing wrong but it seems the changes I make through Nifskope have no effect whatsoever on the mesh of the armor.. I tired restarting the process to troubleshoot: the mesh is now set in slot 52 in nifskope, the armor and armor addon in Creation Kit are still on their original 32. The armor is supposed to be invisible at this point because the data on the mesh isn't the same as the data in its reference. Yet it shows up. If I change the body slot in ck's references the armor is invisible instead. This facts both lead me to think the change I just did in the mesh is somehow not read : showing up with a 32 in creation kit like 32 is still in the mesh and going invisible with a 52 in creation kit, like 32 is still in the mesh (thus different slots and invisible armor). I have no idea what to do about this, I'm 100% sure the changes are there (nifskope sees the changed slot) and I never had this problem before. Can someone help me?

I can probably help you, but I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say - "the mesh is now set in slot 52 in nifskope, the armor and armor addon in Creation Kit are still on their original 32. The armor is supposed to be invisible at this point because the data on the mesh isn't the same as the data in its reference."

In nifscope update the mesh file NiNode / NiTriShape / BSDismemberSkinInstace
right click Block / Convert / NiS.. / NiSkinInstance

Use tesedit to change the first person flags.

Sounds like you have files in your overwrite folder.
