Noob modding question regarding ESP files

Howdy,

 

It's been nearly a decade since I've done any serious modding to any game. I'd like to take some BBB BU armors from an existing .ESP, modify them, then make my own .ESP with only the armors I want.

 

I was easily able to figure out how to do a simple modification (removing of a "belt" item) using nifskope (which worked fine in game using the existing ESP), but I'm having trouble finding resources / tutorials for how to make or modify a .ESP file. I've tried to find the files in the original .ESP using the CS, but have had zero luck.

 

After spending the last 2 or 3 hours in programs and Google searching with no real luck, I figured I'd ask some of you fellows.
