So what's the difference between Vortex and Nexus Mod Manager

Simply put Vortex is the replacement for Nexus Mod Manager. More complicatedly put, is complex and would require an in depth desire on someones part to partake in a conversation on philosphy, the nature of existence and how man sees them self both individually and as a hive mind entity in the universe.

To the second question. Neither. Use Mod Organizer.

What about Mod Organizer 2? It seems to be more improved and has fixed the issue with logging to nexus. Will it work for the same mods?

Yes please, MO2 is the way to go. For people who use MO this is obvious, so most of the times there is no explicit distinction between MO or MO2. Its just a more up to date version, the same stuff for MO will work with MO2
