Ark of Truth Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 I have a Belkin router which I have had about 4 years now. It was working perfectly fine yesterday but when I woke up this morning it keeps being a pain in the ass. Almost every 20min it keeps restarting, all the lights go out and it starts up again. Sometimes only the ADSL and Internet lights go out. The power seems to be staying regardless. It's a good job this router has manufacture lifetime warranty Anyone got a idea about this or had the issue before?
gregathit Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 If it has a lifetime warranty, you might give them a call and see about swapping it out for a replacement. It sure sounds like something is wrong with it to me.
Slammer64 Posted January 4, 2013 Posted January 4, 2013 You're having a hardware failure, most likely due to crystallization of the wireless chipset, it's a common occurence in older model wireless units. Time to replace.
Ark of Truth Posted January 4, 2013 Author Posted January 4, 2013 Just filled out the returns/warranty form. Could job I kept my old router.
Sathe Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I had a belkin wireless router for a while (I think it was wireless G or something)... It frequently disconnected and we returned it claiming it was defective.. they gave us a replacement for the same model.. this happened 5 times until we got rid of it. Anyway your problem, have you tried updating the firmware? If not I would try that before throwing it out.
