Sizustar Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Which of the many NPC mods do you use, why do you use it? This is a topic for people to share which one they use, and also for new people to get an idea on what's available. Crowded Roads - A whole bunch of varation, even SHY did their own version of it. Some people say it'll break the main game... Crowded Roads 3 flavor http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4820 Crowded Roads Advanced http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18251 Crowded Roads Revamped http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4805 Crowded Roads Revisted http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20575 SNR Crowded Roads http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13264 Crowded Roads Advanced NPC Beautify(SHY) http://shy.jsphr.net/upload/img/ups31135.7z Tamriel Travellers - Adds Traveling merchants and traders with guards and pets. http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4387 From2chLive - The mod from 2ch(Japan's version of 4chan) In which they gathered the file and info of a majority of their members character and placed into game as NPC, there are quests and boss. Others Immersive Travellers http://tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=19060&navtag=file/images.php?id=19060&tab=3 LoversStupidNPC - This adds a serie of purple hair NPC with their own quest and events for Xlovers serie content.
Old Book Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I used From2ChLives for a long time, together with LoversStupidNPC and Tamriel Travelers. It worked beautifully as a combo. I also used Uglykidcid's Xenius Companion Compilation, which adds a large number of companions all over the place, and the Midas Companion Collection. Some serious system slowdowns when too many NPCs were in one location at the same time, but otherwise really made the world feel alive. Nothing quite like running into other adventurers as you explore a ruin, or having Molly the Love Stalker show up in the middle of a battle. Now I'm down to just LoversStupidNPC. I was getting a lot of CTDs using Dynamic Leveled Lists and had to strip away mods until I could figure out what was causing the problem. I eventually did, but decided that for now I'm happy with an emptier Cyrodiil. I'll probably add the other mods in again at some point.
Morokh Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Tamriel travellers and Crowded Roads v2.0 - Revamped by MaXiMiUS which is the less game breaking version I found. But I'd love to find a version of Crowded roads or something similar, with variety in the type of NPC you encounter and that is levelled too.
Tom21 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I Use: From2ch Lives F2LMiqoteAddon---------------- F2LAddon_MSElves 017 MPW World Strangers Ta22's 01Army----------------- all part of From2ch Lives 1.3 GazLodge----------------------with Ainmhi Full Voice 1.0 omod City Life x117 with Mad Companionship Spells Works Good to add's a lot of NPCs Like Miqote's, Ice Elves, Chocolate Elves, MoonShadow Elves!
EvenstarGW Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 I tried crowded roads, but promptly uninstalled it when at least 4 travellers decided to "keep me company" before I'd even got past Weye from the IC. Already a heavy area for my PC due to RAEVWD, I could barely walk anymore. Too crowded for my tastes. If there is one where they don't swarm around the cities, particularly the IC, I might try again. For now I use my CM compilation to populate my houses, and the occasional quest mod to add NPC's. Damsels in distress for some random dungeon surprises.
Tom21 Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Have the Same problem Some NPCs like to "keep me company" and one time about 30! NPCs were outside the Dark Brotherhood Door in Abandoned House and trying to get in??? I'v had some go in to Oblivion Gates after me and they were NOT Companions?
Guest Posted September 28, 2011 Posted September 28, 2011 I'm a maniac when it comes to NPC mods. I download and install almost all of them because I hate how vanilla oblivion is SO empty for its 1,000 NPCS. The amount of mods (all the ones you listed, oblivion alive, AND more) that I have for adding NPCs is crazy, In my game I may have over 3,000 total NPCs! My system isn't amazing, but I recently added new RAM and got my oblivion to run with more RAM so I can now actually play oblivion with fairly good FPS (20-30). In cities with better cities installed, all of the NPC mods installed, Lush and Gaudy vegetation, all natural and other things I get pretty good FPS now. But anyways, I pretty much use all of them.
