modder focker Posted July 4, 2019 Posted July 4, 2019 So I've been modding skyrim for quite a bit and understand how mods work. Today I installed mods on FO4 but none of them seem to work except AFT. AAF and everything related to AAF seems to be broken as well. I've installed all the dependencies and sorted the load order with LOOT and had no errors, so I'm not sure why AAF isn't being picked up by the MCM.

AAF itself doesn't actually show up in MCM, just some of the mods that are used with it. When you load your game, you should see text scrolling on the lefthand side of your screen, this is AAF loading. If there is no text left on your screen when its finished loading then you should be good to go. In order to access AAF you push your "home" key on your keyboard and it will bring up the AAF wizard. From here you can pick your animations and scenes you want to play. You can also download and install other mods that work with AAF that you can activate just by walking up and talking to an NPC.

I don't think AAF is loading into the game. I'm not getting the message that AAF is configuring. I installed through MO2 and checking the load order AAF.esm is enabled but it seems that other AAF based mods don't work/wont activate.

If youre not seeing any text scrolling on the left side of your screen when you load a game then AAF isn't installed or working correctly. I'm unfortunately not familiar with the way that mod organizer works or how it does its thing, so somebody with knowledge of that mod manager might have a better idea of whats going on. You literally only need F4SE and AAF for it to load properly. You need other mods to use all the options it offers but to get it installed you only need the 2 I mentioned, so I'm not sure. Somebody with Mod Organizer knowledge will have to weigh in here if you continue to experience problems where it wont even load. Sorry I know you said you modded Skyrim a lot, but a lot of times the main problem is not installing F4SE correctly. So even though you are probably familiar with this mod and how to use it, it doesn't hurt to double check and make sure its installed correctly.

I followed the instructions on the readme and the techniques used by SKSE, and my other mods that use F4SE should be working as far as I know. I believe from what I have tested in game right now that AAF is the only one not working properly.
modder focker Posted July 4, 2019 Author Posted July 4, 2019 Actually wait, does CBBE have a MCM menu?

I don't know if the two of them install exactly the same, but it stands to reason they are similar in they way they are installed. It couldn't hurt to look at a guide quick to see and make sure. 2 minutes ago, werewolfttyy said: Actually wait, does CBBE have a MCM menu? No.
modder focker Posted July 4, 2019 Author Posted July 4, 2019 So I tested out on a clean save, and other F4SE mods work, its just AAF that's not working.
