GrimReaper Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Yeah, the title pretty much sums it up. I've finally gotten around to make an animation from scratch, but for testing purposes I need to see it ingame since I know Blender likes to screw up .kf files. So, how do you do it?
Uriel Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Just replace a couple of .kf's in \Data\Meshes\Characters\_male\idleanims\ani2\ with your anims. Offmotions are for males, defmotions - femeles.

They have a different file structure than the normal animations, I think. The animation for females isn't inside the minotaur folder and the minotaur seems to use a def motion for himself, at one stage of the animation the minotaur had the position of the female. It looks fine in nifskope, however.
Uriel Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Minotaur Offmotion anim must be placed in \Data\Meshes\Creatures\Minotaur\IdleAnims\ani2\ and female's Defmotion must be in \Data\Meshes\Characters\_male\idleanims\ani2\ under the same number.

Thanks, that worked. But as I expected the animation is screwed up - The one for the female works fine, only problem is that the animation has the wring height aka is below the ground. That can be easily fixed, however. What bothers me more is that the minotaur's animation causes the mesh to be twisted beyond recognition.
Uriel Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 You were using minotaur's skeleton in Blender for the minotaur's animation? Also, it wood be better to ask about this here.

But you never know, maybe I'm lucky and someone knows what causes this. I would really love to do some new animation for Lovers Creatures since this part of Lovers is lacking the most imo.
Uriel Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Yep, but it's about niftools and nifscope. Maybe they already got an answer to your question lurking somewhere.

[/quote'] You know that feeling when you feel really stupid sometimes? Yeah. Just after I posted a thread there I figured it out myself. Animation works fine now, now I just need to align it correctly and I'm done.
Uriel Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Yep, exactly the same thing always happens to me. I find answers right after i post a question. Hope to see your animations someday, the more - the better.

I have been trying to get animations done for months, but now I am able to create an animation from scratch. It's nothing fancy, in fact it looks rather stiff and all (no pun intended) but already way better than the stupid standard animation. I will start working on a new one soon, one that can be released without me being ashamed about it. Anyway, thanks for your help. Without your replies I didn't think I would have accomplished what I wanted.
