My game keeps crashing

Hey folks,

 

Sorry to be a bother, but , my game keeps crashing when I get even remotely

near a city.  I've used SSEdit on every mod, used LOOT, and FNIS and I cant figure out what's up.

Can someone help, or point me in the right direction?

You are stuck. You are using a mod with a bad NIF file.

Best guess - you picked up a Skyrim LE mod. That will not work.

 

Disable half your mods. See if you crash.

If you still crash, do it again.

Iterate until you find the offending mod.

Remove it.

Well  I think I did that....so, do I just un-check the boxes on the left from the

top down, then start the game again seeing if the crash happens? Then load one after another?  Do I keep some basic mods active no matter the consequences?
