MrDrAnonymous Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 I'm having these Glowing or Reflective Rocks next to this mountain, I've tried swapping some textures that affect mountain rocks to no avail. So I was wondering if anyone knew the textures that are linked to these rocks, as they're the rocks next to the mountain by the Camp Site for Alternate Start - Live Another Life. If I know the texture file name, then I can figure out which mod is causing the problem
RohZima Posted June 1, 2019 Posted June 1, 2019 That looks like shining rather than glowing which would indicate the glossiness level is high in the mesh. Possibly the specular map could effect it but as far as I know, statics like that don't have spec maps lol, unless some determined modder added one So to fix it you need to go into the nif and turn down the specular strength and glossiness or Uninstall your mods that replace that kind of static clutter until you figure out which is doing it It's weird that a mod would add it's own meshes for rocks though

I think they are over-lapping and the gloss effect or whatever, may be so strong because of 2 sets of textures amplifying the affect. Need to find out whatever the texture is though to know for sure
MrDrAnonymous Posted June 3, 2019 Author Posted June 3, 2019 Yep, I found the mod that was causing the issue. Going to see what I can do about it now
RohZima Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 You can remove those rock objects from data after install or just edit them with nifskope as I said the bit you want is under bslightershadingproperty (or somehting very similar) for the object shape

Only takes 2 seconds if you know nifskope

So it'll be practice towards a goal of mine, even if just increasing my understanding of the process
