Restraints have stopped working properly (Devious devices/ZaZ)

Hi all, I have experienced a couple of problems with restraints from DD/ZaZ:

1) If I restrain an NPC they will maintain a proper bound position but only until we go into a new area and then they will "break free" and remain unbound.

2) The HDT physics for all items with chains do not show properly, the chains float in the air in a rigid manner.

I am 99% sure that my installations are not the problem because I can fix these issues by starting a fresh save. I have had to do that multiple times as the restraints have consistently broken at a mid-way point throughout multiple play-throughs, however I would really like to get further into my current play-through without restarting in order to fix it again.

Does anybody have any idea what could have caused the restraints to stop working properly and/or how to fix them? I am willing to do a good bit of work in order to fix this but I am not sure where to start looking.

Thanks!

For HDT items you can try disabling and enabling the NPC that has them equipped, or removing the item and adding it back.  If they never worked in the first place, check your HDT install.

Bound animations I'm not sure of other than making sure you are using the latest version of DD, and if you have any mods that modify NPC movement installed (example FNIS Sexy Move walk animations will overwrite NPC bound walk animations).

It just seems to slowly fall apart...

I would imagine it's something to do with scripts not running as intended due to save game bloat but that's a relatively uneducated guess so here's to hoping somebody with some more experience than I can shed some light on this

In that case (mod working to start with then eventually failing) I'd agree you may have some more general issues going on that are more visible with DD.  The HDT chains thing seems really odd - I've only ever seen broken chains like that on rare occasions when the game's Havok has gone screwy (and it affected more than chains, all HDT enabled things were frozen including the player body) - closing the game down completely and reloading fixed those issues.

I'd just recommend checking your game's script health for bloating and possibly running some papyrus logs of our playtime with a screwy save to see if anything jumps out as being very broken.  Good luck.

Well, I had the same problem and I found out that slaverun reloaded 3.0 causes it, because previous version without zaz 8.0 supported works fine.
