Need help with face tattoos

I tried to replace a face tattoo from a mod with a design i've made, but it is invisible in game.

I saved it with the same name and the same file extension, but it just doesn't show up. Am i doing something wrong?

Did you save it as the same resolution as your face texture? If it's a different res it won't work.

 

It also needs to be saved not just as a .dds but compressed as DTX5 and with mipmaps generated.
