Ark of Truth Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Ok need the following information. - Motherboard model - Operating System, including bit version
deathparade Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 Windows 7 64-bit Asus M5A97 PRO With a AMD FX-6100 Black Edition Also it just went down to 2 GB got 700 MB left ._.
Slammer64 Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Sounds like you have ram sticks failing, grab a copy of memtest and run it: http://www.memtest.org/#downiso Also, have you updated the bios recently?
deathparade Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 Iam behind 1 version if i recall... but Asus BIOS updating in a safe way you need software that require like 10 other programs and patches to work
Ark of Truth Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Try taking your RAM out and resetting it back into the motherboard.
deathparade Posted December 14, 2012 Author Posted December 14, 2012 Did that right now with 2 these seem to work fine! Found out that one of the 2 i use now is broken... I don't think PCs run with just 3 Cards?

gregathit Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Older PC's used to require matching pairs of RAM, depending on your MB you may be able to run odd numbers.
Slammer64 Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 He has a modern motherboard gregathit, running 8 gig of ram, they haven't used parity ram since the original DDR, so he'll be fine.
deathparade Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 Gonna try that! i just heard that somewhere before...
gregathit Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 He has a modern motherboard gregathit' date=' running 8 gig of ram, they haven't used parity ram since the original DDR, so he'll be fine. [/quote'] Exactly what I was trying to say.
deathparade Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 Well it was always 6 GB totally used and always keeping 2 GB back for some odd reason
