relationship decay question

Hi, can someone please explain how the relationship "decay" thing works? Or link me to some info where it explains this?

I am very confused... I read that if your sims don't interact for about a week in the game time, then any progress in their relationship disappears.

Is this how it works? And does this mean I have to manually make them interact to keep it at a certain level?

What if I make two sims boyfriend and girlfriend? Does the relationship decay thing still happen if I don't bother to make them interact? And if so, does this mean

they would lose the "boyfriend" "girlfriend" status? I don't get how this works...

Everything you said is correct. You need to keep interacting otherwise friendship and romantic relationships go down to 0. You can get negative relationships, but decay just goes down to 0, not negatives. The only thing I'm unsure of is the amount of time, you mentioned a week, I read 3 days somewhere, but I use MC Command Center to set decay to 0 (there is no decay).

Wow, that's so odd... I mean, it makes sense on some level but it's irritating that that would happen even for established relationships. That's annoying. Hmm, I'm using WW and I don't want any conflicts so I don't think I want to install any more big mods. But thank you for clarifying this!

MC Command Center is very useful and can do a lot, but there are individual mods to prevent or reduce relationship decay. I agree with you that it's annoying. I understand you meet someone chat for a couple hours, then don't speak for weeks, so the relationship goes down. However, I think it's weird that husband and wife with 100% friendship and romance drift apart if they don't constantly interact. Maxis is definitely not a believer in long distance relationships.

You can absolutely use MCC Command Center and Wicked Whims together without any problems, they don't conflict.

Then why is it that I heard they conflict? I'm still new to stuff so that's why I was trying to be super careful not to mess anything up in the game. I think I heard somewhere that some part of it might conflict. I don't remember exactly which part... that's why I was unsure.

They definitely do NOT conflict unless you are using an older version of one of them and a newer version of the other (then there MIGHT be a conflict). I use Wicked Whims, MC Command Center, Nisa's Wicked Perversions, and Basemental Drugs (not to mention a ton of other mods) with no conflicts. The main thing with these 4 mods is to make sure that when you update one, you update all.

No problem. A lot of people don't like to use MCCC for one reason or another. I recommend it, simply because the game glitches / breaks / doesn't work the way it's supposed to, and MCCC let's you "cheat" to fix these issues, not to mention it let's you customize things you think need to be better, such as relationship decay.
