Question about armour and or race mod making.

Hello I want to add a spiderman player model to Oblivion, and I was wondering if I could just do it like people do with skyrim player model armour mods or would I have to make a new race entirely?

If anyone was willing to help me I'd be greatly appreciative.

You have to create a new race. Or if you only want spiederman clothes you create a clothes Mod ( a esp with the clothes, the clothes in a new chest, place the chest in a interior cell ( it is better than in the worldspace, less conficts with other Mods )

A race Mod ( esp) 

Download a race mod ( a Mod with only one race, not a race collection )

Then open the Mod esp with CS or better TES4Edit and check how you have to do it.

Then add folders in your game folder with meshes and textures you need. Then create a new esp and build your race.

 

If you do not want new meshes and textures ( only the spiederman armor)  you can create a copy of one of the vanilla races,

You can copy and rename the imperial race.  Then your race will look like an Imperial.

Now you change the race spells and add some "spiederman spells and abilities"  and the race Skill bonuses.

Then create the Spiederman clothes and put the clothes in a chest an place the chest in or near the start dungeon.

Then you have a esp with the spiederman race and the clothes.

Okay question, how would I create the new esp?

With Construction Set (CS)  or TES4Edit.

 

If you load the Oblivion esm with CS and you create a copy of a race ( and make your changes) and then you click "Save" the CS will tell you that you can not change the esm , you have to enter a name for a new esp.

 

With TES4Edit you load the Oblvion esm and then you create a copy of a race by using "Copy as new record into".  then you have to add a new ID for the race and the name of the new esp ( simply follow the menus)

 

But if you have never created or changed a Oblivion Mod....  then first learn more before you create a race Mod. Start with changing esp, and learn how to use CS ( and TES4Edit ).

And if you start using the CS  use CSE ( construction set extender ), best version 51.  Read my yellow Link below.
