Ragnarr1313 Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I am trying to learn how to make mods and I have been doing okay with weapons and shields, but I have a helmet that I am trying to make and I just can't seem to get it. It is a free 3d model from Sketchfab. It is Loki's helmet. I have the file and I have tried various different ways to make it either into a mod or at least a .nif file, but no matter what I try, it ends up having errors and will not work. Is there any chance that anyone out there would be willing to make the helmet into at least a working .nif file? If anyone is willing to help, please let me know and I will send you the stuff for the helmet. I am at my whits end and I am so frustrated that I am about to give up on trying to mod armor and clothing. . . Thanks in advance.
RomeoZero Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 And what errors you get, in CK or game itself ? Technically, you adjust the helmet for the head in 3d app in that app you add BSDismember slot 30 ( head) for concealed helmet or 31 hair slot for open helmet, export it. In Nifskope copy BSshader data from any vanilla helmet with "default" shader type and paste it to your mesh, adjust texture path for it,save. Open CK, choose any vanilla helmet as a reference in Armor Addon and edit it, name it to your new helmet (loki helmet) choose appropriate BsDismember skin slot {30 or 31) or both, and choose your mesh path. Save as a new item when prompted. Do the same for Armor tab.Save your mod.Creating ground object file is a bit different. You can see the wiki for help starting from part 2
Harvald Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 I did it this way. First create a *.obj file with all aditional files like *.mtl. Than open Nifskope and load a helmet looking a little similar. Than mark the NiTriShape of the helmet in Nifskope and chose import obj. Your *.obj-File should replace the original helmet. At last you have to scale and save it. Should work if there are not to many ventricles.
