Dark_Ansem Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Hello, I'm hoping to get a bit of help here. I'm using 3ds Max 2018 - is there any way to export mesh, skeleton and animations in nice FBX format? To use with other apps? Or should I simply switch to Blender, and in either case, what do I need? Thanks!
MadMansGun Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Max supports the fbx format and so does Blender v2.49b, so as far as i know you mostly just need nif plugins for both programs + that annoying hkxCMD thingamajig. but it's better to just use max 2010 with havok and export hkx files directly.
Dark_Ansem Posted April 9, 2019 Author Posted April 9, 2019 Do you have links for the 3ds max plugin? Also, 3ds max 2010 for skyrim special edition? I don't need to export HKX, it has to be FBX, thanks!

I have but haven't had the chance to test it yet - does it also work for animations? the plugin can import .kf files (you would need to convert hkx files to kf with another program first) but it's not recommended. the real question is what are you trying to do/make?

Extract animations and make them usable for another game which only supports FBX! What method would you recommend?

I'm thinking of getting the skeleton out as well. Would that not work?
MadMansGun Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 sorry but i can't help you any further. site rule #3: Quote We may be an adult-oriented community, but don't be stupid, don't post anything blatantly illegal. Meaning no discussion or assistance with illegal content such as piracy, game cracks, models or textures taken from the assets of other games, or any depictions of underage persons with exposed nudity or in a sexual context.

Dark_Ansem Posted April 11, 2019 Author Posted April 11, 2019 At any rate, I installed the plugin and models/textures are showing up, but the animation tool isn't. Any help please? 3ds max 2018 here.
