Converting neovinci's lekku mesh from Twilek Dancers to Skyrim

Hello! I was wondering if there's anyone who knows how to convert oblivion meshes into skyrim who would be willing to convert the lekku (the head tails thingy) part from the mod Twilek Dancers into a functional head part in skyrim? (by "functional" I mean conforming to head size and skin colour, I think best way to do it would be treating it as ears)

I already talked with the author and neovinci said that he will grant permission to do it if anyone is uo to the task.

I don't really know anything about meshes and especially things like body parts but there's lots of very talented modelers here and I would love if someone could spare a little time to do this n_n

Awh I would love tooooo! But all I've ever done with meshes was swapping textures in nifskope ._. I don't even know where to start, is there some kind of stupid person's tutorial for computer challenged with step by step videos in slow motion? ^^

Maybe if i split the headband from the tentacles so they don't get filtered, and then try and match the skin colour to the body's skin colour, so it will have the same base to apply the filter?

*edit*

Well splitting it worked well, and i filtered the texture to have roughly the same tone as the body, but that was a bit hit and miss

....Maybe i need to make a spec map and that other fleshy map the body has for it.

Ohhh thank youuuu Vioxsis! This looks amazing so far! I didn't now that headband thingy was part of the same mesh but yah it's probably a good idea to separate them and then we could use the headband as an accessory! By the by are those little cone ears from OolaLekku.nif part of a single model or a separate element? I'd check myself but I can't use nifskope right now ._. I would love if the lekku, the headbands and the ears from both oola's headpiece and the one from this mod could be separate meshes. This way I could make a race with lekku as hair, ears as ears and with those headbands as additional accessories that player could put on and take off. It would be perfect! ^^

It's both a single model and separate element, so i can split it into as many parts as you wish, and even if they were one element that has never stopped me before.

But we need to get past the colour problem first...

Wheeee! ^^ Thank you!

Oh and by colour do you mean the glossiness issue? Is it a mesh or texture thingy? In oblivion I simply used to copy material properties from one mesh into another when I wanted them to react to light the same way but I don't know if it's still the same in skyrim...

It's close to the same thing its Lighting Shader Property instead of material properties, and i have copied it from the body.

I think it is most likely textures as i have only a diffuse and normal map for it, and no spec map or that other map which i think is an ambience map, maybe :s

Aaaaah... is there some easy way to fix it? Do you know how those maps are usually made?

I have no idea how to make them :s but i do know some one i can ask' date=' but its still bedtime for them. But i wouldn't worry too much about making them, it's more if they are the missing piece of the puzzle, or if it's something else entirely.

*edit*

I butchered the 4 maps the body uses and it matches the skin colour a lot better, the _msn map the body uses effects it differently than the normal map did.

Oh yah I can see the difference! It just keeps getting prettier ^^

So the _msn thingy was the culprit? Do you think the person you mentioned could help with it?

Just learnt how to make object space normals.

And i darkened the diffuse to closer match the skin tone.

The spec map needs to be toned down a bit, i think.

But it's looking better than it did before.

is this working..? I'm new to skyrim but i really want to play a twi'lek race. i downloaded the link provided but i don't understand if its working or how to work it. please help!!

It's functional in game but you need to implement it in CK yourself. I don't think Vioxis ever finished the meshes and I took a long break from skyrim before I started seriously working on it sooooo I kinda think it died.

But I guess it could be revived! I'd soooooo love if some person who knows how to work with meshes would pick up where it left off and then I'd be so happy to start working on it again too!

Sadly I think there's no way this can go anywhere without a modeller.

I tried to learn how to use blender recently but it's been just disaster disaster disaster so far, I can't even understand what tutorials want me to click so this is waaaaaaay beyond my skill level for at least like 100 years with my current progress ^^

so it is functional in game? I downloaded the files but is there a certain place im suppose to put them? It doesn't have to be perfect at all. whats a CK? i'm trying to get someone to help on the nexus but im a nooby so no one is listening :P

"Functional" means it will be visible and won't crash your game IF it's implemented but it's not implemented ^^ But even if it was these resources are only like proof of concept, they still need work before a quality race mod can use them and "quality mod" is my bare minimum n_n

"Help Aayla"

"Help LynMeLekku"

"Help OolaLekku"

will get you the ID

player.additem "ID HERE" 1

will add them to your inventory as helmets.

But if i remember rightly they needed there textures done properly.

And the mesh to be separated and modified. and probably other stuff too.

it looks guy this guy has this mod. he posted a screenshot of it in game and how hes trying to make it a moving headpiece http://forums.nexusm...stom-headpiece/

It still doesn't look like what I wanted. To make a legitimate race mod I need a "naked" lekku mesh without the headbands being stuck in it. That's the top priority thingy I need but I don't think we ever got that far. Like Vioxis just said there were textures standing in the way too
