IKAROS and APOLLO as gen 2 synth replacer?

I remember seeing something about IKAROS a while back and APOLLO too but didn't like the faces on the APOLLO since they couldn't get nick's face right. Did anyone try to merge these things as a gen 2 synth replacer? or maybe they are more like gen 2.5 like nick? Yeah gen 2.5 sounds better than just a replacer for gen 2. Would be nice to see this happen and encounter them in the game world as both enemy and non enemy npcs. Basically nick is already one of them. The friendlies could be made of back stories like people who were badly injured and near death so they were transferred into a gen 2.5 body just before death. Mostly it would be people that were once institute members the player could encounter late in the game.  There wouldn't be that many since gen 3 came out not too long after gen 2.5 and so nobody else had the need to transfer into a synth body no more accidents or whatever plot hole goes here.
