Adding New Unified UNP Sliders From Preset

Recommended Posts

You know in BodySlide, there's the "Unified UNP" section, with sliders for all the presets? Like "Manga High"/"Manga Low"? Is it possible to make a NEW slider set in that section from a preset that's not already included there? I have a few years of BodySlide under my belt, but its just basic use. I'm not super experienced with Outfit Studio, and I'm certainly not an advanced user of BodySlide in general. HOWEVER, I'm good at following directions; if someone explains it to me in detail (if its possible), I think I can manage...?

I don't even really care if its in that section or not, I just want to know if I can turn a preset into a slider....

Also, I apologize if I'm in the wrong section! If I am, can someone move this to the right place?

EDIT: I found a tutorial for creating sliders, but it was no help at all. It enabled me to create sliders that I can only access by selecting the set from the "body/outfit" dropdown. But I was HOPING to instead be able to create slider that can be used BY the Unified UNP body (found in the "body/outfit" dropdown), rather than one that has to be chosen separate from the Unified UNP body...

Do you want to create Reference body? Outfit/Body lists Reference body/parts and Armors.

Open CalienteTools\BodySlide\SliderCategories\UnifiedUNP.xml to add sliders

<Slider name="NewSlider"/>

Save your bsd slider data file to CalienteTools\BodySlide\ShapeData\Unified UNP\NewSlider.bsd

And you know how to add this in game?

Not quite as detailed as I'd hoped, lol. But thanks. Now I just need to figure out how to do pretty much everything from creating the slider itself (from the preset, as opposed to making it by attempting to sculpt a reference shape to LOOK like my preset, which is the only slider tutorial I've found), to, yes, making it actually appear in game and, if possible, in Outfit Studio. I've tried adding it via the UnifiedUNP xml, but it didn't show up at all. Hence why I need a step by step. ;) Basically, from step 1, I am lost...

Edit: Well I'm limping along with experimentation. I managed to create the bsds and get the sliders added to a whole set with all the other sliders. I really don't care if they show up in game so much as getting them to show up in Outfit Studio for experimental modding purposes. Now I just need to figure out how to make then not deformed when they DO show up. I've tried setting "inverted" to both true and false in the osp file to no avail. It not first priority anyway. I'm moving on to other things and occasionally coming back to this as I get an idea of something to try.

EDIT: I got it! Negate sliders fixed the deformities. Thanks, lol.

The first thing you have to do if you starting to do Armors is to create a Reference body. With or without hdt ass, belly or breasts, your own in game sliders. Unused slider will auto delete on save.

ALWAYS use -Zeroed sliders- when editing sliders! If you edit with other presets, the armor can be set to "Base Shape" and if you save, all your sliders are gone. This will most happen if you edit a slider in 0% and one more slider is sett to 100% or active.

And ALWAYS build your Armor with -Zeroed sliders- and tri, so will allot off gamers be happy ?

Well, this was actually for 100% personal use. ;) See, what I wanted to do was make conversions of armors specifically for the only body shape I use (a preset I made myself) WITHOUT A) using the increase/decrease tools until the armor is deformed beyond any hope, B) spending ages fixing the clipping on every single UUNP slider known to man to make a proper UUNP conversion, and C) losing access to RaceMenu morphs.

So what I did was to follow the initial steps of a UUNP conversion tutorial, but when it came time to fix the clipping on all the sliders, I made two new sliders, one for my preset's high weight, and one for my preset's low weight (by importing bsd data), fixed the clipping with all sliders on 0%, then fixed the clipping on my added sliders, and was DONE.

In BodySlide, I then select the armor with zeroed sliders, but my custom sliders set to 100% for their approriate weights and bam, a so-called 'UUNP conversion' personalized to me that takes minutes instead of hours, and so far, they haven't steered me wrong, they even work with RaceMenu morphs. Not community friendly, but I'm no where near confident enough in my modding abilities to share with others anyway, lol.

I started as you did, but with my own body type. That was a big mistake ?

Now i use RaceMenu UUNP and CBBE with jBS2BG and my my own race mode AGE with new in game sliders. Creating a new follower will take about 1h, or converting a follower in minutes. And a must tool NetImmerse Override Cleaner to clean the save from RaceMenu morphs when editing the morphs.ini file.

Well, thing is, I'm a female player who uses male followers. I don't even let NPCs use this preset, only my two female PCs. I've been using this preset for 4 years, and every time I try something new, I always come back to this one (with occasional UUNP RaceMenu sliders in-game to tweak a body part). ;)  I don't need multiple female body shapes, because I'm not real worried about what NPC bodies look like. :P

But I'll look at those links, provided they are Oldrim friendly. :)

Edit: Also worth noting, I only do this with armors that aren't already converted. Basically, I've only had to use this tactic three times so far. Everything else I use has proper UUNP conversions available. This is just a 'last resort' kind of thing.
