Doc_Ctdm Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 Hey, so, I've had this thought in my mind for a while now -Â it's no secret that everyone wants real dynamic seasons in Fallout 4. Hypothetical: could this be accomplished by a script that implements a dynamic material swap for tree/ground/foliage textures, replacing the leaf/grass textures with one that's appropriate for the given in-game date? Or are the ways that external environment objects are loaded preclude that possibility somehow?
Reginald_001 Posted February 12, 2019 Posted February 12, 2019 I think you would need a combination of texture changes and weather changes. But with the weather system itself you can already do a lot in terms of lighting etc.. I don't really know about the textures, you would have to attach a script to basically all level geometry in the worldspace, but I could be wrong.
Midnight19 Posted May 12, 2019 Posted May 12, 2019 a Bethesda employee did it in skyrim during a "game Jam" if only we could figure out what they did.
