Guest k11k27y21k11 Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 I've tried to fix the Beautiful People 2ch-Ed Nec Mystic High Elf Remake.esp to be HGEC compatible using the CS, but I have no idea how to work it. If anyone has an esp already made compatible could you please post it, or tell me where to go in the CS to change the texture to make the .dds compatible? It would be apreciated.
gregathit Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 You need to open that esp with the CS. Then at the top menu choose "character", then "race", then pick the race you want to fix and click the "body data" tab and finally select the correct upperbody\lowerbody\foot textures (make sure you have installed HGEC compatible textures prior to doing this and know where they are). You will want to point all three of those to the footfemale.dds file. Leave the hands alone.
gregathit Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Thanks when you say HGEC compatible textures already installed' date=' do you just mean have the replacer active? I tried changing all the races with dark elf in their names and replaced all of the textures exept the hands to femalefoot.dds from HGEC. [/quote'] No, you need to find and install HGEC textures. It is not enough to change the name of the file if it is not an HGEC footfemale.dds (you have the file name backwards). To check open your footfemale.dds file and look at it. It should show the entire female body with the arms\legs making an X pattern. If the footfemale.dds texture is just the foot then you don't have the right texture and will need to find a proper HGEC texture. Something like the ones here work fine: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=2460
gregathit Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 How do you open the .dds files? my computer doesn't let me. If you just want to view dds files then grab Windows Texture Viewer from here: https://developer.nvidia.com/legacy-texture-tools If you want to edit them you will need Gimp or Photoshop
gregathit Posted December 2, 2012 Posted December 2, 2012 Do I need to edit any files or can I just select files already related to HGEC? No, you don't need to edit any files at all. You just need to use the viewer to confirm that the file you are going to redirect to is in fact an HGEC compatible texture.
