Bad save file can cause FPS drops?

So I was wondering.

Can a bad save file cause FPS drops?

 

I was getting 30 to 40 FPS.

I disabled all the mods, started the same, loaded my saved game and saved it with all mods disabled.

 

Loaded the new save file with all mods enabled again, voila, 60 FPS.

 

 

What just happened?

Scripts in the save game got cleared? Or was it something else?

Assuming you are in the same cell looking at the same thing and get 20fps boost then I guess it must be something messed up with that save.

Yes. I am in the same cell, looking at the same thing.

 

If was actually testing my grass mods.

 

So when I disabled my grass mods on the clean unmodded save, I get a 20 FPS boost.

But when I disable the grass mods and loaded my old save, I don't get the 20 FPS boost.

And when I load grass mods on the clean unmodded save, I lose that 20 FPS boost.

 

Strange.
