Sneaksmile Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Hello. I need help. I can not play anything. A few days ago my Wi-Fi USB adapter started to be disconnected alone and randomly, well, I thought it was random but in reality it only disconnects only when there is a large data transfer, such as an online game, because I can browsing on the web in a perfect way, this only occurs only when I play games or there is a big data transfer in line, such as when I use the MEGA downloader, when the small light of the USB adapter blinks more than normal. Help, I do not know what to do, and the adapter is not damaged or something like that, it's almost new. HELP ...
Visio Diaboli Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I may not be giving new information here but you might consider the steps in this troubleshooting guide: https://windowsreport.com/usb-wifi-adapter-disconnects/ edit: It also seems likely that your usb port isn't able to supply as much power as the usb needs, which would cause it to behave as you've described from what experience I have. You could possibly(?) limit your download speed or something like that, although I don't know what that part would entail. Or otherwise asking a more hardware oriented forum, since I suspect (although can't speak for others) that the knowledge here is more focused on software and modding. Good luck with it.

Thanks, I'll try that guide. ? But why should I limit the download speed? So what is the use of all the connection speed for which I am paying? ? But if only a few days ago I downloaded 2 files of 5 GB each at a super speed and no error happened. Does the USB port from one day to another day now no longer support that kind of data transfer? I never heard that before ? I'm not an expert girl on these issues but using the Windows problem finder says that there probably is a problem with the device driver, and as I understand that is software. And this is related to games because due to disconnections I can not play. P.S - I already updated the driver but the disconnections continue ?
Visio Diaboli Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 The download speed thing was mostly speculation, just because I was trying to think of what may overwork the device. So that may or may not (probably won't) work. And yea you see the effects most prominently while gaming but the issue itself seems like it's related to a the device, whether in the device itself or due to computer settings. Next thing I'd look at is the power management settings, if you haven't already. It's a bit down that page, on the third section (see "Disable USB selective suspend"). Apparently windows 10 has an issue with those. Preferably someone that is smarter about these things comes along XD.
