Guest Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 I was wondering if there was any way to enable sub surface scattering on 1st person hands. After installing Enhanced First Person camera there is a big texture difference between my third person body and my first person hands caused by first person having no SSS. Is there anyway to fix this?
sen4mi Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Subsurface scattering was disabled in the game before release. So that probably means you are using ENB to re-enable it. I expect that you can use nifskope to enable it. But I don't use ENB myself and I specifically don't know which bit to flip in nifskope to turn it on. Edit: it looks like there's a color map that's used for this: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/1188259-bslightingshaderproperty-basics/ so you can probably just copy that from your third person model to your first person model.
Guest Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Thanks Sen4mi. I'm using LE with ENB enabled with the latest binaries. I reinstalled the game recently but never noticed this issue before. But now it's very obvious. I've tried copying and renaming the third person hand meshes to the 1stperson meshes but it didn't seem to fix the issue. The only information I can find is from 2015 about how ENB doesn't enable SSS on first person arms and hands.
Guest Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Here's a picture of it. Sorry for the blur. But as you can see there is no sub surface scattering compared to my third person body (using enhanced camera). No idea what's causing it.
