idonotlikeusernames Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Up until yesterday Wrye Bash would always work normally for me, however as of yesterday I get a short flashing screen and this error whenever I attempt to run this program.  Wrye Bash starting Python version: 2.7.3 wxPython version: 2.8.12.1 (msw-unicode) input encoding: None; output encoding: None; locale: ('en_IE', 'cp1252') Searching for game to manage: bush 80 detectGames: Detected the following supported games via Windows Registry: bush 82 detectGames: oblivion: K:\Oblivion bush 94 detectGames: Detecting games via relative path and the -o argument: bush 100 detectGames: oblivion: K:\Oblivion bush 143 setGame: No preferred game specified. bush 150 setGame: Using oblivion game: K:\Oblivion bosh 6287 __init__: Using BOSS API version: 2.1.0 bolt 1956 load: unable to unpickle data Traceback (most recent call last): File "bash\bolt", line 1954, in load TypeError: 'tuple' object does not support item assignment  Traceback (most recent call last): File "Wrye Bash Launcher.pyw", line 33, in bash.main() File "bash\bash", line 522, in main File "bash\basher", line 7106, in Init File "bash\basher", line 7137, in InitData File "bash\bosh", line 5008, in __init__ File "bash\bosh", line 4818, in __init__ File "bash\bolt", line 2210, in __init__ File "bash\bosh", line 197, in load File "bash\bolt", line 1954, in load TypeError: 'tuple' object does not support item assignment  Since I don't know anything about python and Wrye Bash is a vital part of running Oblivion and the Lovers mod to me I thought I'd ask you guys first. So if anyone of you has any inkling as to what this error might be and what, if anything, I can do to resolve this error I would appreciate any insights you can offer.
gregathit Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 What version of wrye are you trying to run?
idonotlikeusernames Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 302.1, at least I think so.
gregathit Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 You may have to reinstall it. I have heard of nothing but trouble from those using the latest versions of Wrye. Myself I use v295.
idonotlikeusernames Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Ok, Thanks hope I can find a working older version, one quick question though if I downgrade Wrye will I have to downgrade python itself (and all the extension Wrye requires) , say to version 25, as well?
gregathit Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 You will need to install the python version for that particular version of Wrye (the installer will contain the python it needs), not sure if it overwrites anything or if it just runs separately. The previous versions of Wrye are here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/oblivionworks/files/Wrye%20Bash/ Â Direct link to 295: http://sourceforge.net/projects/oblivionworks/files/Wrye%20Bash/Wrye%20Bash%20295/ Others prefer version 294.2: http://sourceforge.net/projects/oblivionworks/files/Wrye%20Bash/deprecated%20versions/Wrye%20Bash%20294.2/
idonotlikeusernames Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Since I still have the installer for my current version of Python I think I'll just try and use the windows installer to uninstall everything first, hopefully that will prevent any mess that could result from overwriting things. I'll let you guys know if it has worked tomorrow.
perfectioncat Posted November 27, 2012 Posted November 27, 2012 Do Python and wxPython accord with a version appointed in WB using? I think that WB should set environment appointing again again.
