b3lisario Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I have a problem with this Yangyang Savage Armor that I don't know how to fix. My english is bad, this screenshot will help: There are a couple of armor pieces with "reversed light": they are dark near a source of light and viceversa I don't know where to look at to fix it (texture files? nifskope? 3dsmax?). I've compared the bugged pieces with right ones and I can't see the difference. My google searchs are being a failure and I am unable to find the response in Nightasy vids I'd be grateful if anybody can point me to some site that explains how the light works on a model or points me where to look at to fix the problem Thanks in advance
Vioxsis Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Bugged vertex normals try updating you exporter http://niftools.sourceforge.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=3845 and export them again. And if you already have updated then add the edit normal modifier and select all and hit unify.
b3lisario Posted November 21, 2012 Author Posted November 21, 2012 Thanks for the fast response. The light issue is present in the files from Skyrim modtype savage armor. There are other conversions of this armor but I think don't include the skirt. Other part of the armors, bra for example, seems to work before and after I export them. I've updated the plugin and did the edit normals, select all + unify but didn't appreciate any change In 3ds I am seeing light and shadows correctly on the skirt (I've just learned how to create a light source lol). Anyway now I see what controls the light and I've found some tutorials that may be helpful. Thanks again
Endiness Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 In nifskope, right click on the nitrishapes -> Mesh -> Face Normals. You shouldn't need add any normal modifiers if it looks fine in max.
