i dont know how to fix this, ive tried reinstall am i missing something obvious?

You might start to check if you installed DD completely, if you installed the current version, check the prerequisites.

 

Also, you should check if your downloaded archives have reached you at full size... Unfortunately there is no failsafe to tell you if the download ended prematurely.

There is a well known issue with github (the file hoster) to terminate download out of a whim after some time. No matter if the file is completely transfered or not.

i have all the pre reqs to my knowledge and recently started using vortex. that said how would one check that. (i used to have a friend do my modding for me but hes away for the month)
