Automatron - Wrong VFX stuck on robots

This issue has been around for some time - whenever i cycle through some parts in the Robot Workbench, the Automatron to be modded gets the VFX baked into it permanently.

For example here i had the Sentry Head (red godrays on head) and Shocking Claw (blue lightning on feet) parts selected but didn't even attach them.

 

 

The glitch only starts to kick in after you load a savegame for the first time in a session, and goes away if you either

A) select any of the bugged parts in the workbench (example the lightning on the feet stops when you just select the leg category)

B) see any loading screens (incl. fast travel)

 

 

Any ideas? I'm still on game version 1.10.75 with respective mod versions, and i think the glitch also started happening around that patch.
