grimoire2236 Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 Hey LL, longtime lurker & first time poster. Here's what I'm looking to do: I'd like to take a piece of custom armor and break it up into individual pieces, much like famous The Amazing World of Bikini Armor (i.e., top, bottom, belt, tasset, pauldrons, etc.,). How would I go about doing this? Is there a guide out there that I missed in my search? Does it matter if the outfit is HDT-enabled? I imagine this requires NifSkope & the Creation Kit. Anything else? Thanks and have a wonderful day :)
SirDuke Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 I have no idea, if there is a guide out there for your needs. But of course, you´d probably need the CK, nifskope (and blender / 3dMax or same modelling programm; eventually) First You need to seperate your armor meshes. In some cases, this could be done with nifskope. But only, if the armor already is made from different parts. If not, then you´d have to seperate them by hand through blender (or your modelling programm of chioce). Second step Every armor part needs a different body part flag, set through the meshes of the armor in nifskope. (Like "left leg" or "right leg" or whatever) Third step Link the selected body parts with the same armor slots in the CK Not as hard, as it might sound... ...but still some work to do, and to learn, if you´re not quite expierenced.

Use TES5Edit. Use "Edit only vertices that are connected" button on the top to mask the part you want. Then "Separate Vertices" on the right. The masked part will be the new. The new part needs "Copy Bone Weights" and Slider >Conform Selected. Don't use conform on breasts sliders, it will be ugly. Delete the parts you don't want to use. Now you need to set the bone for the new part. Mark the part on the right and click Partitions. The bone and Apply. Save Project As... and don't forget remove "Copy reference shape into output" If Type 0 BP_TORSO is stuck. Save the new project. Open the saved project in nifscope and go to your new mesh. Open and mark NiSkinInstance right click and Block > Convert > Bethesda > BSDismemberSkinInstance.
