No voices in Knights of the Nine DLC

Hello, I recently started to play Oblivion again after quite a few years. I encountered a weird problem while starting the KotN questline: the NPC's do not have any voice sound while attempting to play through the quests.(the subtitles are there as if an NPC would speak though). I have the English language version of the game.This only happens in KotN related content, all other sound files play as they should. Can anyone please help me?

 

My load order, as sorted by LOOT, is as follows:

Never use LOOT with Oblivion !!!!!  Use BOSS, You Load order is wrong.

 

 

Sure you have a english KotN version?

Voice folders must be in the right language.

 

Check your Kights.bsa

In a German Oblivion

sound\voice\knights.esp\hochelf\m\ ...name of the sound file.mp3

in a english Oblivion

sound\voice\knights.esp\HighElf\m\ ...name of the sound file.mp3

Only Nord, Khajiit, Dremora and Sheogarath are the same  in german and english Oblivion. ( not sure about French, Spanish,...names )

 

But first sort your Mods.

If you still have no voice install kights again and make sure you install the english version.

I'm sure I have the english language of the game(I even checked it as you suggested). I used BOOS to sort the load order but it did not help my problem. The weird thing is... i own the game both on Steam and from GoG (I got one as a gift, while the other I had already purchased). I first installed the Steam edition of the game only to have no sound as mentioned. I then installed the GoG, using the same save files, and the same thing happened on the GoG version too.

Never use the same save files / old save files !!!

If you have changed your load order start a new game.

And after you have changed the game ( Steam to GoG ) you must also start a new game.

The error can be in your save !!!! So you will never know if the new Load order or the GoG version works.

Ok, I started a new game and that seem to have done the trick. Fortunately I only played 2 hours on my previous save so I did not lose much progress. Thank you very much for your help!
