Hi

First of all let me say how sorry I am to hear your story. I know how things can be - my father is in the final stage of a battle against cholangiocarcinoma which has now moved into the liver (will know for sure once I get the lab results for the AFP back in a couple days). We don't see things lasting beyond a month or so, but on the other hand we had decided against any aggressive treatment given his age and rapidly deteriorating condition. Our primary concern was to give him easy end-of-life transition, rather than try to be heroic and have the disease fight back aggressively, with the associated pain and trauma. Plus the jaundice took a long time to recede, which meant by the time the bilirubin was close to operative status he was past the point of no return.

Anyway to your question, creating a follower in Skyrim isn't hard at all, I did my first ones a few months after I started to mod. You should look at CPUs guide on the forum, it's basically

1. Create a face you like (I find this the toughest part). You need to use Racemenu or ECE to do this.

2.  Create the follower in Creation Kit (not sure if this is possible in Skyrim VR but Skyrim SE mods should mostly work)

3. Merge the face you created with the exported head from CK.

Making an NPC should take all of 5 mins, same for merging but he face is pretty tough as the heads available for Skyrim are not exactly realistic - and the Nord head is the worst of the lot. Making a face may take many hours of fiddling and tweaking specially if it's someone you know and love - it's never going to be good enough.

Unfortunately I do not have the Special Edition or its CK just yet. Else I would have volunteered to do this for you in a second. Here's a link to CPU's tut:
