_._ Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Merging sex mods Over the years I have used various sex mods with varying degrees of success and on each occasion I attempt to merge the files. My aim is to reduce the number of esp's to as few as possible, whilst retaining stability and functionality. However, sometimes the MCM loading speed dies, other times the game crashes on startup and sometimes things just straight up don't work. I am sure many of us would be interested in obtaining further insight as to what can be merged whilst preventing said issues, so I'm reaching out to other members of the LL community to put there thoughts, views and experiences down here. My latest merge is the most stable it has ever been but it occasionally crashes on startup, so I do not count it as suitable for long term gameplay. However, it has full functionality, the MCM never hangs and afaik everything works. There are some things I never merge, masters (esm's), and plugins who are masters to patches e.g. Schlongs of Skyrim and it's patches. My latest merge looks like this > Merge notes: A lot of animations have been merged that are dependent on SAL. I have tested all the animations in game and they work fine. FNIS does not report any associated errors during generation. I have merged various Schlongs of Skyrim patches and tested in game they all work correctly, including various schlong HDT test against COS body, HDT balls etc. Both sexspells (Random Attack and Mass Match Maker) work correctly and even in a room of 50 plus NPCs initiate animations without crashing. Estrus merges fine and works correctly as does sextreme loading screens. I haven't tested more nasty critters extensively enough to make an informed decision. If you have any insight or can share your own experiences that would be super helpful. Thanks
worik Posted November 9, 2018 Posted November 9, 2018 Some other 3rd mods look for certain names or they simply have hard/soft dependencies programmed. Estrus, MNC and maybe some others belong into this category. My conclusion is that these mods are usually not good candidates for a merge and better be left standalone. All thoses SOS addons are the opposite since usually nothing depends on them. That makes them perfect candidates in my book
