I'm just curious about the roadmap as well, as a rough plan / idea made public would be interesting. EDIT: To clarify, I'm asking on what a general premise would be in the future, as regardless of the inspiration there will always be a bit of change from what was intended.

Symbiont.zip 8.39 MB · 14 downloads I've been messing around figuring out how to do tentacles in blender, (I don't really like LoR1DoK's tentacles, but the main body is very good.) And I've found a good enough workflow. Prerequisites: 1. Have blender (duh) 2. Have the an .obj file of the body you want to wrap in tentacles. You can get .obj's from .nif files using NifSkopes export function. (in my case I'm using FusionGirl\Meshes\Actors\Character\Characterassets\FemaleBody.nif) 3. Have the .obj file of the symbiont. #################### Method: Import both .obj files into blender Delete or hide tentacles ## For Sketching: Create a grease pencil object. Select it and go to draw mode. Change (Top of the draw menu, next to view)-Stroke Placement to Surface to draw on meshes. Select Eraser and enable Occlude Eraser so you don't erase lines on the other side of the body model. ## For Tentacles: ######### Create two Curves. # Add > Curve > Bezier Curve & Circle Select the Bezier and go to Object Data Properties(the little green curve tab) and down to V Geometry V Bevel Select Object, then click the Object field and select Circle. This create a tube along the length of the curve with the geometry of the circle. Select the Circle. The first option under ObjDatProp--Resolution U--can be used to change the amount of points(vertices) in the circle. Selecting a curve anchor point's center vertex: G = Move | x/y/z will lock movement to that axis. R = rotate | + R = rotate but different T = Alt = rotate tube around anchor axis S = Scale the length of the anchor. S + Alt = Scale E = Extrude another segment Selecting two adjacent anchor points + Right-Click > Subdivide = New segment between selected points. This is a video tutorial on how to do these steps ######### Begin Sketching out how you want the tentacles to wrap on the body model. Once satisfied create a tentacle and conform it to the sketch. To get a mesh Right-Click and open the Convert To menu and select Mesh. And that's it, If you get that far you can figure out the rest yourself. this is just a basic workflow/explanation.
