MBP and other issues

Hello all, I love the community here and really hope someone can help me out with this problem :s

Basically, I cannot find a working MBP++ download (and I am not terribly sure how I would set it up without breaking the game).

I tried one MBP download in the past from a different site but after working out many bugs that kept crashing the game, nothing really changed when I got it to work. It was on and in the race selections there were other (ugly) looking races but they looked very distorted and worse than the vanilla races. None of the faces or textures of other races were improved either so I just deleted the files out of frustration.

I really want to get this sorted out and working so that I can use other mods like Tamago club that I have been trying to get to work for the longest time.

If anyone can help me with this issue, I would be eternally grateful :D

You were not looking hard enough. Download the full omod from deposit files. (The one I use and it works fine with no distorted faces or anything, if gregathit (Guy in purple who looks like you owe him something tells you otherwise follow what he says or he will most likely destroy your sandcastle, should you have one!!)

Install Oblivion mod manager.

Advised to install Xeo as well for the full effect. Links and instructions in the spoiler, do the optional downloads as well, makes the game better in my opinion.

The link Ark gave you for MBP is a good one.

Many people misunderstand what MBP is so don't feel alone. MBP is a passive beautification mod. Other than give you more races to select from it does nothing to vanilla NPC's. You have to install an MBP based "replacer" mod if you want to use MBP to replace vanilla NPC's. One such replacer mod is this one: http://www.loverslab.com/showthread.php?tid=3087

Lovers plugins often use MBP so it is difficult to get around not installing it - as you noticed with Tamago club.

Now another alternative to replace vanilla NPC's is as Ark stated "Xeo". That is the main function of the mod. If you intended on using both MBP and Xeo then I resommend you grab the XeoSP++ version (it does require you to install XeoSP 1.0 first). The bottom link Ark gave you, will take you to the Xeo thread.

First bit of novice advise.

THROW NMM IN THE GODDAMN BIN!!!

NMM? What is it? Never heard of it.

Also, once this user gets a base MBP in place and working, optionally with Xeo, they will also need to get Wrye Bash installed and a Bash Patch generated.

I'm also going to recommend a BOSS install too, although some see it as less useful than others.

Alright I got MBP to work but now the text in game (such as what characters are saying) is a mess and looks like unicode now.

Any way to fix this?

Sounds like you installed a untranslated MOD. Many are originally Japanese, hence the unicode characters.

I didn't use the OMOD version being specified here. Look to see if there are any options as you install it via the OMOD. Deactivate the OMOD via OBMM and reactivate it will take you back through the install process. That's where any options should appear.

If no options one of us will need to review the files you are installing for MBP to try and locate the untranslated file(s).
