LL mods and dark face bug?

Early in a PT, I noticed that all vampire thralls my PC runs into have the dark face bug.  In one thread on a nexus board, someone mentioned a lovers' lab mod was the culprit, but didn't give specifics.  Can LL mods cause dark face?  If so, where's the best place in the load order for them?  I currently have all LL stuff toward the bottom of my load order.

Not really.

You have dark faces because the FaceTints are not correctly generated.

 

You should check which mod alters the characters and try to reinstall it (or remove it.)

 

To find the mod, just go in front of a NPC with the dark face, open the console, click on it, then on the bottom-right you should see which mod alters it.
