Guest Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 So that I can attach them to posts? I'd like to post pics that I've taken and put them into certain threads, but I receive a message saying that my image is too large and the size limit is blah blah blah. Ps: Should I be embarrassed for asking this?
Ark of Truth Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Just upload to a imageshack account, set them to private and then link them in the post. Much easier. But it depends what it is of.
Guest ThatOne Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Convert the file type. BMP images, for example, can take up 6 megs while jpg images won't even take 1 at the same dimensions. Also, consider making the image just smaller. You can achieve the first with just about any program, even the standard paint should do (save as -> change file type). The second could probably be done in pain as well but if you want to keep the quality of the image you are better off using a program like photoshop or ACDSee. For ACDSee, right click the image -> process -> edit. I don't have photoshop so I can't give the steps for that. Quick edit: as Ark said, you can also upload to imageshack or another such site, but I tried to provide help for what you asked about - reducing image size so you can attach it here.
gregathit Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Ps: Should I be embarrassed for asking this? No. I don't know how to do it either. @Ark - imageshack also has an option for thumbnails. Wouldn't that work or is it too small?
