Regarding Certain Oblivion Mods

Hello, I am completely new to this forum, and have been interested in this modding community for about more than 2 or 3 years so far. A combination of the Japanese mods and FlingingFeces lured me here.

As of now, I do not possess the funds or the rig to run Oblivion, so I wanna know some prior things before I start experimenting with mods again.

I own the Steam version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Should I still install the Unofficial Oblivion Patch and all that correctional stuff?

I've installed Wrye Bash, OBMM and BOSS before, but before seriously thinking about actually grasping the potential of the mods. 2chMBP, ++, x117, and 2chbodyposes (very obscure one I don't remember, 2ch-1, 2ch-2?, something like the CTaddposes) are all very important to me as core mods.

Is DMRA a seperate option from the so-called HGEC body? Is SPB also the same? If someone makes a mod like the SPB curvaceous mod, will it conflict with armors for the same body form, also for DMRA?

How do you get characters to look so nice? Is it because of facial aging texture disabling? OBGE?

What's the best area in the tutorial to tweak your character's face to speck?

Sorry, this is my first post and I had a lot of questions ever since I found the Oblivion mod videos on YouTube.

Welcome to LL.

The official patches are required by most mods. The un-official ones are optional, and they include bug fixes and the like.

Wrye, OBMM and BOSS are utilities to help you manage your oblivion install. You should probably get them because they allow you to do various things you normally could not do (such as install or extract omod files, manage or print your load order, have various save profiles etc).

Wrye and OBMM come with built-in mod installation (BAIN for Wrye and omod for OBMM).

They do not conflict with any mod.

DMRA was based on HGEC, if I recall correctly, and the textures align correctly. Thus, no they will not conflict. I don't know about the body SPB made.

OBGE allows you to enchant the quality of your entire game, not only your characters.

However, most characters you see in the "most amazing" screenshots have either a custom texture, had the picture modified in photoshop or both.

You can get beautiful characters by using one of the many race mods available. However, you character will not be as "unique" as theirs.

Tweaking your character's face - There's a few mods that allow you to further customize your character than what the game normally allows, but you can probably get the best results by using the CS (import your character's face with Wrye, tweak it, then copy it to your save).
