House-keeping on porting Skyrim mods to SSE

Recommended Posts

Been trying to get Athletics Training working with SSE, without success.  On a hunch I installed SSE Creation Kit, copy/pasted HavokBehaviorPostProcess and it inside the mesh file folder and scripts.  Amazingly they work.  I get the impression that some mods (especially script heavy/mesh heavy) are compatible with SSE so here's a light tutorial on how to successfully install Skyrim mods to SSE;

Step One:  Create an account for Bethesda.net launcher, download and install the Creation Kit.

Step Two:  Download and use SSE Edit to clean up Skyrim original mods.  https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/164/.  Reason why is in video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q3nUwBMJZg

Step Three:  Go to Steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Tools.  There should be an application called HavokBehaviorProcess.  Copy/paste to your mesh, script and data folders and run application for each folder.  When finished delete the extra HavokBehaviorProcess to save on disk space.

Step Four: You want to also get SKSE64 via the link http://skse.silverlock.org/.  MAKE SURE YOU GET CURRENT SE BUILD ALONG WITH CURRENT BUILD.  Install SKSE first then SKSE64 after, yes to overwrite all.

Step Five:  Run FNIS with the HKX File Compatibility.  Exit out of FNIS and enjoy.

I don't take credit for mods nor applications.  This is just a light tutorial for those that are having fits trying to get Skyrim mods to work with SSE.

Thank you and God Bless.  Have fun shouting at dragons.
