TheRealMissAmber Posted September 8, 2018 Posted September 8, 2018 Load order: Skyrim.Esm Update.Esm AWSolitudeDocks.Esp I simplified my load order to pin down the Esp causing this to happen. It is my own mod actually so I absolutely need to figure out why this is happening and learn how to fix it. In these screen shots I am standing in -16, 22. The interesting thing is if I leave the docks area the water and mountains to the west render just fine. For the screen shots I was in TFC mode. As you can see when I am in this group or cells entire chunks of LOD simply fails to render. It's worth noting that I do not have a Terrain folder in my meshs or textures folder as I do not wish to use a generated LOD, I only want the vanilla LOD.. This happens in Low - Ultra settings In 3rd person view I can get the missing chunks to flash momentarily but then they vanish again. I tried toggling Wire frame to see if it's just the texture not showing but there are no lines or verts on the missing chunks. I have been at this for days looking online, going over my Esp with TES5 Edit and trying whatever I can fine that is even remotely close on Google. I think it's also worth mentioning that if I deactivate the Esp the lod renders just fine so I think that rules out an .ini setting. For me as the maker of this mod it is devastating and 1000 times worse than Z Fighting mountains. I absolutely need to get this fixed, it has to be something in the Esp it's self. I simply do not want to generate new LOD as it may conflict with other mods as it often does. Screen shots below. If you have ANYTHING to offer about this please tell me so I can fix this and avoid this issue in the future. I have come too far on this just to trash it or start over. Thank you Spoiler
TheRealMissAmber Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 Think I may have just stumbled onto something. Currently standing in cell -16, 23 and distant mountains are in fact rendering. Even in first person I was in TES5 edit scrutinizing references and paying attention to LOD fields. I had some of the places objects at full render distance and differs from Skyrim.esm so I changed it to default East Empire co warehouse for example. Anyways I have it set back to the way it's supposed to be and the chunks are not 100% where they should be yet but there is progress. It seems to me that changing LOD settings on static items in one cell can have an impact on another cell(s). Interesting.
TheRealMissAmber Posted September 8, 2018 Author Posted September 8, 2018 Okay I did a few more in 17, 22 and mountains are now rendering while standing in that cell too. I think I solved it. I think this problem happened when I was trying to update the world map because this mod move some of the vanilla static meshs to a new location. If that's the case and I did find the answer this is huge because quite a few people have had similar issues and the only fix I have seen is "remove the mod causing it" especially with large squares of water missing and that is half of the issue I'm facing.
TheRealMissAmber Posted September 9, 2018 Author Posted September 9, 2018 [Solved] for anyone that may have this issue in the future. Open the Esp in TES 5 Edit navigate to the cell where the distant LOD fails to render. Example: Example.esp Worldspace 0000003C Block -1, 0 Sub-Block -2, 2 000092BC Solitude Docks This would be Tamriel -16, 23 All you need to do is select this cell Then in the drop down list on the right look for TVDT - Occlusion Data Make sure this string match's Skyrim.Esm Do this for all cells that fail to load chunks of LOD when standing in them and it will correct the rendering. 4 day trial and error and it was right there in front of me the whole time. The pay off is worth the headache. Much love to LL.
