Help with build morphs, cbbe and Diverse bodies

So I am very much a beginner here with using CBBE in conjunction with Diverse bodies.
So after installing Diverse bodies I was given a new player body. After lots of reading and reinstalling mods I finally got DB to work and have my new body.
However the CBBE Armor I have does not reflect my new body.
After much digging i found out that i need to build morphs for the CBBE stuff to get a .tri file that will let me use my new body in the CBBE armor.

Before I installed DB i had used bodyslide to create a custom body, but I don't know how to build morps for the CBBE stuff.

Can anyone help?
Yes, I ticked the FSEE when I reinstalled CBBE all 3 times.

Huh it all depends on how DB works. If it uses LooksMenu in game sliders over a standard CBBE body, then all armors made with the morphs should work, yes.

So you'll need to get Bodyslide files for ALL armors you use, and open Bodyslide, select the Body used (if you are using a custom one, select it, otherwise, use the standard CBBE required). Then you can do 2 things:

Select each Outfit and look for the box just in the left side of the Build button. It's called Build Morphs or something like that. Check it. Then, and only then, click Build.

Or, to do things the quick way, check the Morphs box and then click Batch Build. Batch does everything at once, so you don't have to go through each outfit one by one. But always be sure that the Morph box is checked. The files it creates are the .tri files that looksmenu will read and then use to edit the body ingame.

If you equip the ring, your body will change, if you talk to someone with the ring equiped, the person will change. From what i read, it seens that's just it. I never used DB, so i'm doing a blind shot here.

I am a little confused....

When i installed DB it overwrote my custom bodyslide i had already set.

So if DB i s overwriting my bodyslide and it is not being used, how is bodyslide going to effect my character?

How do i get bodyslides for the armor? Pampas is one that i am using.

I have already used the looks mirror and the ring to change myself and others successfully.

Thank you for responding

Not at my pc at the moment.

Well, let's go slow then.

What exactly are you talking about when you say "bodyslide"? The tool or your custom body?

Because probably DB comes with a new body meshe, thus why it is not required to install Bodyslide at all. If it comes with a body meshe, then it will overwrite the one you made before, meaning femalebody.nif and .tri, both the mesh and the morphs, so the magic can happen in game.

The magic must happen by taking the standard body that DB installs, then applying morphs in game like you could do using Looksmenu - nothing with the mirror.

A note about Looksmenu:

After installing CBBE (and i guess, other bodies) and Looksmenu, if you built or installed a body that comes with .tri file (the morph file), then you'll be able to change parts of the game with the same sliders you have in bodyslide.

For this, you can use the mod Looksmenu mirror, or type in console "slm 14" (slm means showlooksmenu and 14 is the ID of the player. Replace 14 with the ID of the character you want to use the command), or just go to the surgery clinic. Any of these will open the character creation screen, where you can select the option Body.

In Body, you'll have another option added by looksmenu, called Advanced. In Advanced, you will see the sliders that edit the body parts.

If you get to it and understand how it works, you'll understand better what i think that is how DB works. By changing THOSE sliders in game.

DB claims it doesn't need Bodyslide, so i will stay with my idea about how it works and then there is no way that it would overwrite your Bodyslide install.

So, I think we got through this part " When i installed DB it overwrote my custom bodyslide i had already set. ".

-----

" So if DB i s overwriting my bodyslide and it is not being used, how is bodyslide going to effect my character?  "

Bodyslide itself won't affect your character. It creates a nif and, if checked, a tri file. Of course it does a lot of things, but to not leave the subject, that's it.
All you want from Bodyslide is the body and tri file.

Let's say, you installed Bodyslide and created your body. Now you have a female body mesh (nif).

Then you install DB, it replaces your female mesh with a new one. Now you have a new standard female body mesh and tri file. With this, DB will work as intended. All armors now must be in the standard body shape with tri files, so vanilla armors now will work as they should with DB.

Now you want to use a custom body, so you go and create a new female body in bodyslide, and this new female body (mesh/nif) replaces the standard one that DB installed.

With this, the nude body will now be the body you created in Bodyslide, modified by DB magic. Armors won't follow, unless you create meshes with your body preset for them too.

This way, you'll have a non standard body created by you working with DB, if you created meshes for both the armors and the nude body.

-----------

" How do i get bodyslides for the armor? Pampas is one that i am using. "

A lot of armors that you find on Nexus and LL have Bodyslide files. When downloading an outfit mod, check if it does have Bodyslide files for it in the Files section or in another mod in Nexus or even in the internet. Find these bodyslide files, and install them. Pampas have these files, just look in the mod page.

Once you downloaded Bodyslide files for the armor mods, open bodyslide. You know how to use it, right? In the upper left area, Body means your body preset, the shape, and Outfit is the output, the armors or body you want to convert.

Then, do as i said:

" So you'll need to get Bodyslide files for ALL armors you use, and open Bodyslide, select the Body used (if you are using a custom one, select it, otherwise, use the standard CBBE required). Then you can do 2 things:

Look at this:

This is what you want. Preset (not body, sorry) and Outfit, Build Morphs, Batch Build or Build.

Build is to build one by one, Batch is for all.

After using Batch Build, if any outfit have the same output as other, you'll have to select which one you want, and that's it.

This is all you have to do in Bodyslide.

Just remember one thing!

Use the same Preset that you are using for all armors, or they'll look different.

----------------------

" I have already used the looks mirror and the ring to change myself and others successfully. "

You got the mod working, you just need to build tri files for your armor mods with the right preset and everything will work as intended in the game.

No problem, but don't even bother reading this without being on PC with bodyslide open. It is easier to understand once you are with your hands on the dirty :)

Hope you can understand what i said and can get it working.

::::::::::: I must let it be clear again that i NEVER used DB, and i am just guessing that this is how the mod work and that doing it will make DB work. If this doesn't work in any way, it would be interesting to try to find help in DB 'forum'.

edit: damn ignore my "meshe", it's mesh xD

Yes, so I made a custom body and saved it as a preset, not sure if i needed to do that or not, I then clicked build, then loaded the game and looked at my new custom body.
I then installed DB and as, I expected it would, after reading up on it, it overwrote my custom body that i had made with bodyslide. I then just created a new body with the DB ring.
How ever, when I put on a CBBE outfit it does not reflect my new DB ring body. Vanilla appears to work.

After some testing today I managed to break DB, while experimenting I did my preset build again in bodyslide and now the ring and mirror are not working. But I can probably figure out how to fix that issue.
I am rewatching a 30 min video that I scanned thru before, still watching it at the moment, but I have a better understanding.
It appears that I need to get the CBBE armor\outfits to show up in bodyslide and then I can morph\batch build? them using my custom body i built.

But that all seems like a moot point since DB is going to overwrite my custom bodyslide build and then the armor will no longer "fit"

I know that DB does not need bodyslide, but isn't it used to make custom armor fit a custom body using the morph I guess?

And thanks for going slow...
Gonna see if I can't fix DB now.

Well, there's not much i can add.

I explained how to get the morph files for your armors, that's all you should do, i think. Just try it. Read my post carefully and try to build the armor nif and tri files.

You don't need a custom preset, no, but you must use the same for everything this way.

It's not a moot point because if DB is overwriting your custom body... and then you overwrite DB with the custom body again, it should read your custom body. And the tri file from the custom armors as well.

You just need to create everything in Bodyslide first then enter the game to test the rings.

Did you delete anything? If you remove the tri file the mod probably won't work.

while i am a bit confused about the entire topic

this is the order

1. unzip diverse bodies into Data

2. using bodyslide with your favourite preset (or cbbe zero), tick the tick box label "Build Morphs" and click Batch Build...

3. build everything and if there is any dupes then select your preferred model and Wait until it is done

4. load it up using your mod manager and play

What are you confused about it?

Please explain exactly what you are having difficult with.

Are you not using mod managers? I'm using MO2 for a long time now and can't even think of adding things to Data folder manually anymore ?

This is what you should do, yes. What is going wrong?
