I've looked through the big hair mods and all the twin tail hair mods I could find, but I just can't find this specific hair.

Actually, Isn't the author of screenshots here on loverslab? I remember asking about tumblr blog from link I posted in my previos reply.

It's Fallen Moon I think.

Maybe try asking this person about hair mod? But I am sure the answer in this person tumblr blog is correct one. Hair is ported and It's private port.

I did not remember the name anymore, but compare OP image with this (bottom left second and third) two was combined with three (the ponytails)

But if you just combine this two hairstyles in CK you will have two sets of ponytails, so I think you still need to edit hair in Blender/3DMax.

But this hair might be really ported from Deviantart or something. Because there are similar hairs in mods for Skyrim, Fallout, Sims, Oblivion and more. They are probably have the same original source.

also here you're right, I have absolutely no modding experience.
and I mean not to combine, I meant exchange (tails).
yes OP image hairs have more volume.
