whatnicknameisthis Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 I imported CBBE body nif into 3ds Max but the texture is grey. Below is a screenshot of material editor, however, their icons of bitmaps are black.
Roggvir Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 That looks like Max is unable to locate the texture files. Make sure you unpack the textures somewhere where your Max project is set to look for them (or you can double-click the texture in that window, and use some button on the UI shown afterwards to locate the texture).
Roggvir Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Also make sure the material is set to show itself (or the texture) in the viewport (right-click on the material and select something like "Show material in the viewport"). Also, make sure the viewport is using some drawing mode that can actually show the textured (shaded?).
Roggvir Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Oh, and if you are using some older version of Max, it may not be able to load some newer texture formats/compressions, in which case you will need to convert it to something Max can read (keep it as DDS, but use some older compression, or even uncompressed - you can use texconv which comes with CK, its somewhere underneath the tools folder).

It can locate those files, however the message prompted by 3ds Max says invalid image file header
