Didn't they lay off a bunch of people just recently? Sims is dead.

Layoffs happen at medium to larger companies on a regular basis.  It can indicate a change in direction or someone forgot to add a zero to the budget....no kidding.  Also, someone who has been at a company for “20 years” may not be bringing the same freshness to the franchise they use to.  Maybe it was time for newer-cheaper-more diverse blood.
