cleavagesweat Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 So I 've heard that mods that change the animations can screw up your game. I've also heard the mods these days should have minimal issues now. I personally can't stand the left-handed action in FO4. does anyone use these mods? any issues with them? -Player1- Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 All mods, if installed/deinstalled the wrong way WILL fuck up the Save ! That being said there are a lot more ways you can fuck up the save. Better take a look at the Mod-Comments and ask the author himself. As for me, i dont think animation-changes can fuck up anything but .. better safe than sorry. (BTW Right handed Versions are not immersive ^^) Edit: Look at how many NEW Bugs are listed .. i would NOT advise anyone to get the mod, at least not for now
Selfcontrol Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 Quote So I 've heard that mods that change the animations can screw up your game . No. English isn't my mother tongue but I'll try to explain as best as I can. In vanilla Fallout 4, each weapon is using a unique animation preset. For a very long time, modders couldn't or wouldn't make new animations for their new weapons. Instead, they would simply use existing, vanilla Fallout 4 animations for their modded weapons. Then, modders got better (or finally could make new animations, I honestly don't know) and started to make new animations for their modded weapons OR animation replacers (for existing weapons, because many people including me don't like most of the vanilla animations). Nowadays, most, if not all new good modded weapons have their OWN unique animations. Therefore, there is NO conflict at all. The mods that you linked are both animation REPLACERS on top of flipping the meshes so that the weapons are now right-handed instead of being left-handed. This is a special case : 1) Both of these mods will replace the vanilla animations and vanilla meshes for the Lever Action and the Hunting Rifle. 2) Both of these mods do not have an .esp. It means that the vanilla animations files are overwritten. 3) It also means that IF you have another weapon that was created with the intent of using either the vanilla animations of the Hunting Rifle or Lever Action, the weapon will use the animation replacer because the vanilla animations that it is supposed to use has been overwritten by one of this mod. 4) In this case, do not panic ! Such conflict does not threaten your save at all ! The weapons will work but it will be "ugly" because you will end up with a weapon that was designed to be left-handed (because vanilla animations are left handed) but it will use right-handed animations (for example shells will be ejected on the right side even though there is no extractor on the right side etc). 5) Uninstalling the mod will resolve the problem without any trouble. Don't worry, your save is safe. Regarding the mods you linked, I'm glad to say that they work perfectly without any trouble. I'm using them both and I have quite a lot of modded weapons in my load order and everything works perfectly fine. The only conflict you can have is with the Hunting Rifle one. If you buy the Antimaterial Rifle from the Creation Club, the AMR was designed so that it uses the Hunting Rifle vanilla animations. But if that is the case, don't worry, the modders already fixed this problem => https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/31939 I hope I was understandable EDIT : one question : do you have the Nuka-World DLC and See-Through Combat Scopes ?
