Golgo13 Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 My toon had gotten impregnated by a supermutant despite her diaphragm, so I figured that she might as well whore it up around Jacobstown until she could clear the kid out of her inventory. Otherwise, I couldn't make a clean save to reinstall Breeder. All was going fine-- according to in-game messages, the animations had executed successfully over 50 times-- when, suddenly, every time I try anything with a supermutant, I CTD. This is not the case with humans. I checked. This was all working flawlessly for weeks, and only just suddenly stopped working early this morning for no apparent reason. I'm not getting CTD's under any other circumstance (of which I'm aware). I tried backing up to an earlier save, and the CTD's still occurred. If whatever is causing this problem is causing any other problems, however, I couldn't find any by porting around the map and trying various things. All I could think of doing was reactivating everything, which didn't fix it. My other, idiot-level idea is to nuke EVERYTHING, clean my registry, and start over from scratch. I'm hoping that someone smarter has a less drastic solution for me.
KainsChylde Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 First up, there is no supermutant breeder episode yet. This is most likely a pregnancy issue, not breeder. Second, try a clean save. Disable pregnancy, load and save, exit, reload and save again, exit, enable pregnancy and try again. Last, if you're still having problems after all that we'll need to see a load order to help spot any conflicts.
Golgo13 Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 I didn't know if bringing a developing baby supermutant into the deathclaw cave was going to cause faction problems. Maybe it wouldn't-- I don't work on code, and don't know its details; I just read about how finicky the mod is about faction flags. I'm still getting the CTD, so here's the load order that was working up until this morning: FalloutNV.esm DeadMoney.esm HonestHearts.esm OldWorldBlues.esm LonesomeRoad.esm GunRunnersArsenal.esm CaravanPack.esm ClassicPack.esm MercenaryPack.esm TribalPack.esm AWorldOfPain(Preview).esm Project Nevada - Core.esm Project Nevada - Cyberware.esp Project Nevada - Rebalance.esp Project Nevada - Equipment.esm Lings.esm Sexout.esm SexoutCommonResources.esm SexoutPregnancyV3.esm SexoutSlavery.esm SexoutLegion.esm SexoutStore.esm The Crucified.esm borisniSarahWeintraubVanilaFIX.esp SexoutZAZ.esp SexoutSS_C.esp SmallerTalk.esp AWOPDeadMoney.esp AWOP DLC + GRA Conflict Error Fixes.esp FewPosesMore NVedition.esp NVRefugee Outfits.esp Grunt perk fix - DM LR GRA.esp HittheDeckandStonewallFix.esp AtomicWranglerFixes.esp RatslayerFix.esp NekhCFinderFix.esp BrainPerkBugfix_Cardiac.esp ShotgunVATSFix.esp 12GaSlugHullFix.esp SlayerFix.esp unusable shovel fix.esp LFox Bottle That Water.esp companionannoyances.esp Neckchains.esp BodyJewelry.esp SomeClothes-FNV.esp Distant Gunfire Sound Fix V2.1 - Machienzo.esp EmilyOrtalDialogueFix.esp ED-E avoids traps.esp Gomorrah3rdFloor.esp populatedcasino.esp Rebound AP Fix.esp Neck-id Slaves.esp VyntageCass02.esp VyntageVeronica02.esp CassFix.esp SexoutTestForSTDs.esp SexoutConsequences.esp KDC_Companions_Removable_Armors.esp Centered 3rd Person Camera.esp RealSmokes.esp improved_glasses.esp improved_shades.esp headgearfix.esp PipBoysToThePeople.esp Cat Outfits Vegas.esp Bottlecaps Have Weight.esp SexoutDiscounts.esp SexoutHookupsAlt.esp CManagerie.esp SunnyCompanion.esp AllCompanionsEssential 2.0.esp Killable Children.esp SexoutRex.esp Fellout.esp friendofnightforfellout.esp SexoutBrutalRapers.esp SexoutWorkingGirl.esp SexoutNCR.esp SexoutPowderGangers.esp Tryout - Hard Prison Time.esp SexoutFiends.esp SexoutKhans.esp SexoutKings.esp SexoutHowAbout.esp NVWillow.esp SexoutWillow.esp SexoutFadeToBlack.esp SexoutLust.esp st.esp The Mod Configuration Menu.esp Total active plugins: 91 Total plugins: 114
KainsChylde Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 My appologies for my earlier message seeming abrupt, I was mobile and trying to be concise. TestForSTDs is an old, unsupported mod that is known to have issues. Other than that I see no obvious conflicts. Have you updated any files recently? How long had you been running this build before the problem started? Are you running the most current NVSE and extender? (3b2 for NVSE, 11 IIRC for extender).
Golgo13 Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 Thanks for the reply. Every time an update is posted, I update that file. But, since there weren't any updates posted, I didn't update any files within the last few days except for NVSE and NVSEE, which I updated to the most current versions when I received the notice upon starting up-- within the 2-3 days. The only unusual thing I did very recently was add the whatever-it's-called-pack that adds the various extra items people would have gotten by pre-ordering the game. I did that so that I would be fully compatible with any mod that expected all items from the "ultimate" edition. Obviously, that caused all of the items in the list to be assigned higher digits; but, I can't imagine why that should cause a problem that would sleep for hours, then erupt. One peculiarity that theoretically could have arisen was that I already possessed one of the packs in the set. If it tried to install that pack over itself, it hadn't even occurred to me to uncheck it in FOMM before going to the store, since, when I was buying the pack, Steam just started downloading the pack automatically without my even starting the game. I had done that, however, before a session that had lasted quite a few hours which included time in the deathclaw cave before the possible faction flag issue occurred to me, and I quit. Then, I started the next day, and played for a few more hours before encountering a problem. Finally, I'm too high-level to carry any of those items around, and they weren't added to my inventory when the pack was added, so that mod wasn't in use. As a rule, I don't replace mods with new versions of themselves without unchecking them, first, in FOMM, since that sometimes gives me an immediate CTD. Once in a while, I've forgotten, and nothing happened, at all. Given the length of time that this was working over two days, I'm not too convinced that this could have been the cause; but, with my limited understanding of this stuff, that's all I can think of. Well, That's it. Can this be saved, or do I need to obliterate it and start over from installation step one?
KainsChylde Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 Well, is the problem only with supermutants? If so you don't need to abandon the game, just not screw SMs anymore. If you are determined to hump SMs, there is a test you can do before reinstalling. Start a new game. It could just be a corrupted save and not a full corrupted install. And if that be the case there are mods available like the Levelers House to rebuild your current character so you don't have to start completely from scratch.

[/quote'] The trouble is, you never know when some mod is going to involve some supermutant raping you or something, and I don't want to have to keep avoiding or aborting progress in mods because I discover that that animation is going to occur. Is there any way I could start a new character and immediately test if the supermutant animation works (through some console command or special mod)? I would rather just reinstall everything than play through the game all the way to the point at which the toon CAN test the animation, and have a chance that all of that time was wasted. Incidentally, something seems to have happened to the way that this word processing program works. I've been putting words I would stress in speech in all caps rather than italics because, beginning with this thread, when I try to put a word in italics, it comes out [undefined=undefined]italics[/undefined].
KainsChylde Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 As far as testing supermutants goes, you could always coc to Jacobstown and use the sexkey mod. I think there is a way to summon friendly creatures and NPCs for sex testing purposes but I've never used it so I don't know. In regards to your editing issues, if you either use the new post button at the top of the thread, or preview your post before posting it, you get access to the full editor to see all options and fix stuff.

I still don't know how to fix it, though. It takes quite a while for a level 1 toon to get to Jacobstown. I guess there's probably a god mode I could find to make it easier, if that's what you had in mind, and try the sexkey thing. *Sigh* This is really giving me an headache. Well, thanks, again.
KainsChylde Posted October 15, 2012 Posted October 15, 2012 No no no, I mean go straight to Jacobstown. Complete your character creation, go outside of Docs house. Hit the button to open the console (~ on the US keyboard, not sure what the key is on European keyboards). Type in "COC Jacobstown" without quotes. BAM! You're now surrounded by SMs and can go try humping one.

Golgo13 Posted October 22, 2012 Author Posted October 22, 2012 I didn't want to draw any hasty conclusions; but, I've been running a new game for a while, now, and things seem to be normal, so far. So, a corrupt save appears to have been the problem. Thanks, again.
