Looking For Modding Help

I'm new to the world of Skyrim modding, I'm not going to lie. I've tried to do plenty of research about it before I tried installing MoreNastyCritters, and all the pre-requisite files, but so far I've come up dry with results. Quite frankly, I don't know what I'm doing; online posts are doing nothing for me, and there aren't any helpful videos to show me how to properly set things up. I'm using Skyrim Special Edition instead of just plain Skyrim, which seems to be a factor when it comes to the mods I'm guessing?

I need someone's help in getting the mods to work, to walk me through me how to get the files working. If anyone could help me out, please, I'd really appreciate it.

Followed the instructions, downloaded the specific files, but the game won't even launch. I'll click the SKSE launcher and it'll show the command window for a split second, then the game will just never launch. Same with the normal launcher, the launcher itself will show, but the game won't launch if I click 'Play'.

that sounds like a missing mod, or a wrong load order, or you failed to extract the scripts from SexLab Tool's bsa file (SSE can't read the classic/SLE bsa files)

Seeing as I made sure all needed mods were installed, and I double-checked the load order, I'm pretty sure it's me failing to extract scripts from the bsa file. Now, how exactly do I do that? And where would I look for it?

Edit- Also just check the page for SexLab Tools, and it says it's compatible with Special Edition?

Edit 2- Found the bsa file and put a copy on my desktop before just removing it from the Data folder. I guess by extract that just meant toss the bsa file away since it seems to be working now?

First: welcome to the modding scene

Second: Here you mind find some usefull stuff

Third: To extract BSA files, you get the BSA extractor from @MadMansGun link. Then you copy the bsa file (either from direct download or from your Data directory) to a work directory.

Use the tool to extract the bsa file. This should give you the extracetd files in the right folder structure. Exept the scripts, because bethesda thought to change the script folder structure for SSE. The compiled scripts (.pex) go into the Data/scripts folder, the source files (.psc) into Data/Source/Scripts.
