cleavagesweat Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 this is going to sound silly to more experienced modders but in regards to making NPC replacers do I need to take into account the 1stperson NIF files? I have a gut feeling that logically the answer is no since when would I be in 1st person for that NPC? I think I just started doing it when I first learned and looked at the insides of another mod and just started copying that configuration without knowing if it was necessary. a definitive answer would really set my mind at ease and save me a lot of time.
RW311 Posted July 3, 2018 Posted July 3, 2018 Only if it's something that the player can also equip and you want them to be able to see hands/arms in 1st person. 1st person field can be left empty or use default 1st person if it's already there from a copy.

RW311 Posted July 4, 2018 Posted July 4, 2018 Just to be clear, if you have it filled in like that the mesh should be there to avoid errors, if you leave it blank it's always safe and no extra mesh files need to be packed in your mod. Worst case scenario with blank field is a player somehow wears that armor and has no visible arms in 1st person and they bitch at you on forums.
