I honestly love the Diamond City Expansion if you've never tried it. This is my first time actually using RSE so I'm wondering why this patch would cause the crash.

This would lead me to guess that you're playing a survival playthrough with RSE's Advanced Needs running - that's not recommended, per RSE's page. That probably wouldn't cause a CTD near DC though, just food for thought. Diamond City Expansion should be as low as possible in your load order. If running RSE and better settlers patches, the recommend LO is: Quote ... at the very bottom *FP_FamilyPlanningEnhanced.esp *FP_RSE.esp *Stm_DiamondCityExpansion.esp *DCE_female_body_replacer.esp (if you use this option, it's not required) *RSE - Diamond City Expansion Patch.esp *RSE - Better Settlers Patch.esp ... and lastly any scrapping mods and transfer settlement mod here (if you have any) --end-- And while we're talking about Diamond City Expansion, there is a DCE CBBE replacer for the strippers/prostitutes in Red Seat District (shameless plug ) Since you are not using Easy Girl, get the regular edition. This fixes the vanilla never nudes and/or weird body textures due to body mismatch on the female employees at the club.

AWP3RATOR Posted July 1, 2018 Posted July 1, 2018 No worries! Hope it works out. The "crashing near DC" bug is reported a lot with the Diamond City Expansion mod. The mod author recommends lowering it as far as possible in the load order - which seems to resolve the issue for nearly all users who get the CTD.

EDIT. I Tried with Diamond City Expansion and all the patches for it turned off. Still crashed, Papyrus reads about the same, now I'm truly stumped.
AWP3RATOR Posted July 2, 2018 Posted July 2, 2018 That's good information actually - you've ruled out DCE Papyrus logs are almost useless when determining why a crash happened. Most generally, it's good for modders to debug scripting errors - if those scripts happened to have debug code built it (which most do not). But that's a different issue, for a different day. The thing about your CTD issue is that you have heavily modified your game. Most of your mods can be categorized quickly and ruled out. Mods that add weapons and armor generally wouldn't cause this - as they don't affect the cell(s) that are at or around Diamond City. Finding which one it is is tricky and can even be wholly dependent on your load order being out of order (like DCE not being low in the list). When this happens to me, I use the brute force approach to figure out which mod it is: Take half your mods and disable them - test. If you get the issue, you know that the mod that is the culprit is in the half that is loaded. If you do not get the crash, test with the other half enabled, first half disabled. Keep halfing the list until you get to a workable number. Test them individually. Should only take 4-5 iterations to get to a workable number. For example, you can ignore Cross mods as they don't touch Diamond City area. If the above doesn't work, you have a specific conflict between two or more mods. Could be the plugins, could be scripts - hard to say. If you're handy with xEdit, you can put your entire load order into xEdit, let it all load up and finish it's scans. Then check the cells in/around Diamond City for red conflict rows - paying attention to the mod that is farthest to the right on the display - this is the mod that is "winning" the conflict battle and the one that edited the item you are reviewing last. Sorry - there aren't any "magic bullet" answers here....

I went exactly to the cell I was having crashes in and noted the mods that utilize that cell. Then I did some research. Apparently Boston FPS Fix is not Compatible with Atomic Radio/Tales From the Commonwealth. I haven't tried it in game yet, but this might just be it. Regardless, you brought me this far. Thank you!

Since I have a bunch of followers, clothes, armor, and smexy mods. I am thinking I will need to nuke from orbit, I cant even start a new chracter. Please help this is beyond frustrating.

It was the mod Pack Attack NPC Edition - Gangs with Group Combat Tactics - Pack Attack NPC Edition. It's a truly wonderful mod that worked all throughout the wasteland, but for some reason was causing me issues near Diamond City, after looking at the page on the nexus, other people are getting crashes from the mod in other places as well. So unfortunately I have it uninstalled for now. If you have this mod it might be that, if not, go ahead and post some more info to see if we can help!

Im having the same problem after vortex update and some other mod...looks likethe npc pack atack its the problem...still testing but this time it loaded
